Re: NHL says the 5 players acquitted of sexual assault are ineligible to join league

Post by IsDurbanodoingtime »

It's interesting that the PA is posturing this (at least initially) to an action that is violation of the disciplinary provisions of the cba. This is not the same situation as Quenneville who was not covered by a collective bargaining agreement as these five are. Nor is it apparent that it's similar to Mailleux in that I do not believe he was covered under the cba since he had not signed a contract. There could be pushback from the players representatives pushing the pa to arbitrate the discipline or risk them suing the PA for a breach of duty of fair representation.

Explain that to MADD or the daughter of the MacT incident
Except MacTavish did hurt someone, which differentiates it from the ROR or Kapanen incident. I would imagine that most people in MAAD would agree that a rape is a more heinous crime than a dui where no one was hurt.
Who raped someone?
The NHL is not bound by the legal argument of innocent until proven guilty. They have a responsibility to protect their image. I would imagine they don’t want to be known as the gang rape league, even if it’s only alleged. So they’re own investigation. As they should!
Correct. The NHL has optics to consider. And also, the NHL is going to consider a ton more stuff than just the final verdict. All these guys signed NHL contracts that contain a morals clause. Did any of these guys violate that? Hide their conduct from their respective teams to get and keep those contracts? Lie to the NHL in their investigation? We as fans won’t know the answer to those questions but the NHL will. These guys don’t have a slam dunk to continue their NHL careers just because they were acquitted.
ROR clearly lied and abused/manipulated multiple systems. Everyone knows this. Why is that ok? No bumps for him.

That’s just one example…nevermind all the grandfathering/pardoning

He lied to the Police…ergo he lied to everyone. His story was all lies. Everyone knows that. Of course it’s lies.

Do you even know what really happened? Regardless, he fled the scene (proven obviously). Now why would an adult, highly intoxicated man do that?

Deflecting, as usual. All talk with no evidence, as usual. Everyone is talking about it. You asserted that he lied and can’t even point to one piece of evidence that he did so. Sad.

It doesn’t matter. First time DUI, lying to the police, and slander are all misdemeanors. Even fleeing the scene of an accident is usually a misdemeanor if no one was hurt. It’s just not the same type of crime as sexual assault.

Wait so you believe his friend was driving his truck? Hahahaha How did he get off? Explain it lol. Multiple criminal acts occurred and he blew over the limit once caught.

You won’t answer the question because you’ve lost and trying to answer it would prove it. Laughing at you

I just want Theo to provide the evidence. I looked and couldn’t find it, so I’m genuinely curious. I won’t engage in a debate when we can’t first establish that an asserted fact s in actually a fact. Maybe it is, but again, I can’t find it.

He told the Police he wasn’t driving his own truck. He told the Police he wasn’t drinking. You didn’t answer why a grown, highly intoxicated man would flee the scene of an accident (a criminal act). Why didn’t you answer that? We both know why you didn’t answer.
It doesn’t matter. First time DUI, lying to the police, and slander are all misdemeanors. Even fleeing the scene of an accident is usually a misdemeanor if no one was hurt. It’s just not the same type of crime as sexual assault.
Of course it matters. And it wasn’t just a dui. There was property destruction and fleeing the scene of an accident you caused.

Try it out…replicate it and see how your life goes lol 😂

I asked you a genuine question. You’re out drunk with your friend. You’re drunk. You smash into a building. You flee the scene in your vehicle. Park it. Abandon it.

Why?

Theo, it’s a very easy request to answer if you’re so sure of yourself. Provide the evidence that he lied. I can’t just take your word for it. Do you believe everything everyone tells you?

Do you understand why he was found not guilty? I feel like I’m conversing with a 12-year-old on this. No offense

He told the Police he wasn’t driving. You probably want proof he was. Jesus lol

That was the entire basis of the case guy. How the hell do you think he got off? He blew over the limit that night and his truck smashed into a building. He fled the scene in his vehicle and on foot. Witnesses placed him in the drivers seat and his lawyer fought hard to dismiss/discount them…which he did.

You think he was found not guilty by saying, yes your honor…I was wasted, then drove away after smashing into that building…then abandoned my truck and took off on foot. Hahahaha
