Could the Cardinals, possibly, get a fairly young, cost controlled #2 starting pitcher for Burleson? If the Cardinals would make that trade trade for Burleson at the trade deadline, who would be a productive replacement for him in the lineup? Are Gorman and Walker ready to be productive hitters at #3 or #4 in the lineup?
Come on, Burley is a JAG. A steaky hitter for a month and then vanishes. A mediocre OFer at best. Slow on the bases. He may end up as a half decent first baseman somewhere, but he is what he is as a hitter. He, like Noot, are what they are. Other teams know that too. A #2 pitcher with control for a JAG? Please return to reality....

If you want return them Hels and Donny are your most attractive pieces.

Donny is a great piece to have, but he is not a player who’ll be a pillar piece on a contending team. He is a great complimentary piece on a contending team.

You could package Helsley, Maton and Romero as a package to fill out a teams bully.

Hurdy is the best trade chip on the roster.

they know what burleson is --- both gorman and walker have potential to be much better hitters, it would give them more opportunity to play them for the rest of this 'reset' season.
UniKKKorn can't get over back issues from pre-All Star break.

They know what KKorn is...damaged goods

You realize you could try to sign Maton and Helsley in the off-season?

Not sure what Romeros contract is.

You still have orielly, king, Leahy, Svanson

Fill from the minors too.

romero has another yr on his contract. I believe Helsley will be dealt, so trading Maton leaves ya no one to close.
I also believe King is a mop up guy, and there's really no one in the minors thats been good given a chance.

these are things I realize

Well, you could call up JJW and put him at 2B and move Donovan to LF.
Maybe Burly could land a decent SP piece, I'm not sure.
