What exactly is “full value” at this point?bgwinn01 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 15:24 pmHow stupid do you think other teams' GM's are? You think there would be any way to get full value if the Cardinals tried this move ?! Come on, now.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 14:00 pm Anyone else think this is weird and going to be a huge issue. Go into the ASB and have a bad back and it's still not rectified a week later???

Yes that's what I said...you see the correct 20 days? But the rehab is still all part of being on the IL.An Old Friend wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 16:24 pmNo, once they send him out on rehab, he gets 20 daysbrock118 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 16:19 pmThe rehab assignment is part of the time on the ILm it's all one in the same and correct is 20 days. If they want to send him to the minors to get better they would have to just option him to Memphis. An Old Friend wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 13:59 pmRehab assignment up to 20 days.IndCard75 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 13:58 pm Pending a trade I feel like last nights line up is kind of set right now. Gorman is still young and needs to play every day imo. So my question is, when he comes back from IL can he be sent down on rehab assignment? And for how long? At least that would get him some regular at bats.

That's not why he is on the IL.
If needed, he would be active.
Team simply needs to create space.
He is being stashed - just as Walker and Mootbaar have recently been - to buy a little time.
Re: Question Gorman IL then rehab
I love how certain posters will “fixate” on players either to the extreme negative(Nootbaar) or extreme positive(Gorman).
These certain posters will let their extreme bias to the negative or positive take them in comical directions.
Very entertaining and laughable. LOL

I have been saying for years they need to sell Gorman. His value has went way down and continues to plummet. Cards should have sold this offseason.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 14:00 pm Anyone else think this is weird and going to be a huge issue. Re: Question Gorman IL then rehab
You are just trying to defend your idiotic stance of how great Gorman was. He should have been traded long before now. You were wrong about him. He is an oft injured and often pathetic hitter. Donovan is an All-Star second baseman and they have Wetherholt knocking on the door.Melville wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 21:50 pmHis back is fine.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 14:00 pm Anyone else think this is weird and going to be a huge issue. Never said his back wasn't stiff.
Never said he did not get an injection.
Simply said, if needed and scheduled for daily playing time, he would be available.
STL admitted stashing Walker for an extended time in the minors well after he was healthy enough to play.
They were buying time.
Which is what is going on today with Gorman.
Only 26 spots.
Not room for everyone, everyday.
Gorman back will be magically healed and healthy on the very day the roster says so.
Not one day sooner.
Not one day longer.

If you believe the Cardinals aren’t that good of a team, as I believe, then the goal should be to get guys ABs. Since they’re not chasing a WS, Herreras defensive abilities behind the plate don’t matter as much as getting Gorman 200 more ABs. This way, Gorman can DH, Donovan plays 2B, Walker plays RF and either Burleson or Noot ends up getting traded, either at the deadline or in the offseason. Noot could also play some CF. Neither the nor Scott have been all that good. Neither deserves to start ever day. There’s my logic.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 20:32 pmNot serious are you?woofy25 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 14:00 pmJust have Herrera catch.IndCard75 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 13:58 pm Pending a trade I feel like last nights line up is kind of set right now. I’ll also add that Pages behind the plate, is not gold glove caliber by any measure. He needs no further runway

honestly, the combination of Herrera not being good behind the plate and his leg issues, I pretty much think that ship has sailedwoofy25 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 10:36 amIf you believe the Cardinals aren’t that good of a team, as I believe, then the goal should be to get guys ABs. Re: Question Gorman IL then rehab
it used to be you couldn't trade a player who was on the DL, now IL
is that still true?
asking for a friened

Have never seen a 26 man roster with so many catchers who can’t catch. This has to be some kind of symbolism for the state of the entire organization.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 11:06 amhonestly, the combination of Herrera not being good behind the plate and his leg issues, I pretty much think that ship has sailedwoofy25 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 10:36 amIf you believe the Cardinals aren’t that good of a team, as I believe, then the goal should be to get guys ABs. I’d still have him catch and risk another IL stint. Then figure out his full-time position in the offseason.

and I think you'll get your wish at some point, but don't think it'll be on a regular basis. the only reason we have so many on the big league roster is due to him not being able to do it very wellwoofy25 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 12:09 pmHave never seen a 26 man roster with so many catchers who can’t catch.
