Army looking to add?
I can't see this move, but it's interesting. It's the time of the year when we are aching for meaningful hockey talk.
These podsters suggest the Blues trading with Columbus for RW Yegor Chinakhov. The kid and Coach Evanson didn't hit it off. He's a .5 PPG player with a small sample size. He has score 16 goals in 53 games in 23-24/ Gets hurt alot, but he's young and talented. Former first rounder at 21. Could blend nicely with our third line. Maybe there's some synergy with Devo. I would be upset if we spent a first round pick on this kid. RW is not an area in need, but it might be an upgrade over Sunny, Joseph and Texier. I like what we have in our system and don't want to block them. I would like to see what we have in Jecho, Robertson, etc. Army loves first rounders though.

Re: Army looking to add?
I thought he said two weeks ago he was closed for business and going to enjoy some golf?
Re: Army looking to add?
If Army's looking to add I hope he's calling about Robertson in Dallas. That guy would be a great get if the price is right.

Re: Army looking to add?
I’ve watched a few of these guys’ vids and want to like them, but they have a click-bait/over speculate vibe to them.
They use titles like “This changes EVERYTHING!!!”
Then they discuss moves that the Blues “could” make, “maybe”.
But I will say that when they do discuss things, they are really knowledgeable and well spoken.

Re: Army looking to add?
You could be right. Here was the quote he gave….
“We have all of our contracts done on July 2nd. No arbitrations. Everybody’s in the fold. We have one player that’s still out there. That played in the American League. And so when we signed (Pius) Suter that was pretty well put the go fishing sign up. And usually you have other things that you need to do this time of year. We’re in a good spot. So there’s not a lot really to do, except dream about what’s around the corner and prepare for it a little bit.”
Re: Army looking to add?
OF COURSE, Army is looking to add. Every freakin’ GM in hockey is looking to add. That’s their job. Now, is he burning up the phone lines? Probably not. But, he or Steen are making calls on a daily basis just checking in. Most times it’s probably just a casual call to chew the fat and if something pops up, then maybe they’ll pursue it.

I really dislike this channel. Everything is presented constantly as over the top and you listen to the vlog and its pretty much a nothingburger almost constantly. Really terrible analysis out of the announcer dude as well. Not a fan and I wish the youtube algorithm would never send this to me.
Re: Army looking to add?
I could easily be wrong. I'm just saying Army rarely tells us what's really going on when it comes to trades or signings.rezero wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 21:30 pmYou could be right. Here was the quote he gave….

I'm ok with going into next season with this lineup. I don't think they are a Cup team but I think they'll make the PO's.

I can't stand the way that guy talks. His voice is annoying.MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 21:48 pmhockey jedi wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025 19:04 pm I can't see this move, but it's interesting. It's the time of the year when we are aching for meaningful hockey talk.

Re: Army looking to add?
i dont mind the voices and such, but the clickbait titles were enough to send them from my feed.
I think some are taking the army comment as a smokescreen or a literal 'i've done my tasks i'm out for a few weeks'. I feel like he was literally pointing to the fact that a lot of the stuff that he'd normally be doing in terms of contracts and such this year are already done. I'm pretty much fine with the team going into camp as is, i would still like to see some work done on the bottom 6 spots to make it less cluttered, it can be detrimental if players think they deserve playing time and aren't getting it, and i think at some point we might see that to some degree if we don't have an injury or two down there.
Just get in the playoffs, and see what happens. Thats my view, you just never know. a playoff hero and some bounces can be the diference between a 1st round exit and hoisting a cup. We'll be capable of playing with most teams on depth, will just depend on who we face and how healthy our team is versus theirs in most cases.

Re: Army looking to add?
would you trade Kryou for Robertson
Re: Army looking to add?
Not in isolation, and I hardly see the point. Robertson historically has been a better player, last season that was not as apparent. Kyrou is a better fit being a right shot. Robertson likely projects out to be better but his contract status almost certainly would make him far more expensive, or short term which would be a hard no.
On LW the Blues would have Robertson, Buchnevich, Holloway, Neighbours, Toropchenko, and a host of prospects. On the right side Snuggerud, Bjugstad, Sundqvist, and off-wingers. Not an ideal fit, not a trade I'd make in isolation.
Why would Robertson extend with the Blues? He would be costly. I don't see the fit. Kyrou's challenge is to be better or keep the gap close.
