My predictions for Trade deadline; what's yours?

Post by ClassicO »

Captain Obvious, maybe, but I think they'll trade Hesley, Fedde, Matz, and maybe Maton. Hopefully, Arenado will agree to a deal.
Likely, one of the catchers Not Named Bernal will be part of a deal to achieve more return.
Some vague ideas of what we could see:

I think (hope) the Yankees may be able to persuade Nolan to join Goldy and make a run at a ring for him (or his second playoff win of any sort).
I would not expect much back as he has a negative value. I could also see this being Gorman if Nolan won't waive NTC. Still not a great return but it solves some lineup construction issues. I've also seen a Donovan to Yankees trade and let him play 3b.

I think Helsely to the Dodgers and Cards will try to get young pitching (they have a lot, just all injured).

I think the Fedde and a catcher NNB to the Pads may happen. Or to the Red Sox, but it would have another player like Maton or Matz as they need to get above the 3rd WC spot. Maybe Fedde goes with Helsley to LA or Boston as a +/- trade.

I'm afraid they are going to be disappointingly quiet.

With John Mozeliak in charge, who knows? He will probably ask the Royals if they want Donovan for Rich Hill.

Yep. We are talking about "the market just didn't develop the way we hoped it would" MO

After Mo retires some of you are going to need a team of surgeons to extract him from your wazoo.

I also find myself in the "market didn't develop - no moves" camp.

Sell High on Pozo....he's likely to never have his Value this high again. I won't miss him, there's others on the farm that are better than him.

I do appreciate his passion and his clutch hits, but we have bigger and better fish to fry ....Pozo won't be missed.

It does seem the Yankees are the best shot to try to get a taker for Arenado. You could also look at the Phillies, if they are still sour on Bohm over there. The Phillies were one of Arenado's approved teams I think. Maybe could work out a 3 team deal to send Bohm somewhere else and give us a journeyman SP. A new Fedde for next year as we trade ours this year.

Good job. You’re the only one person who was specific about the trades. Thanks.
It’s fun to guess.
