Big night for Fedde
Should be a considerable number of scouts in attendance at tonight’s Cardinals vs. Rockies game.
Teams seeking starting pitching will most likely have a scout in attendance getting a look-see at him.
Fedde has allowed 20 runs in his last 14 1/2 innings .
A good outing (even vs Rockies lineup) may generate interest.
For Mo’s sake, he is hoping Fedde looks good tonight.
Will he or will he get knocked around again ?

Rockies got 8? Hits against a dominant McM. No walks I believe. Expect more traffic on the bases. As to how many score, I’d say more than two.ramfandan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 10:03 am Should be a considerable number of scouts in attendance at tonight’s Cardinals vs. Rockies game.

Re: Big night for Fedde
Dan buddy, Fedde has very little trade value to a team that is seriously contending. They can see he is pretty bad. Unless they have some dream of "fixing" whatever is wrong with him. Maton and Helsley have value. Maybe Matz has a small value to someone. Maton and Helsley might fetch you some sort of return, but Helsley is a rental so that lowers his value. I hope they dump all of them and just play kids at this point and maybe there will be one lottery ticket they get in return who works out in a few seasons. But Fedde has very little value, regardless of what he does tonight. Another MO dumpster dive. He at least gave us a little value early on before he turned back into a pumpkin. I will be glad when MO is completely gone and Bloom can rebuild the team.ramfandan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 10:03 am Should be a considerable number of scouts in attendance at tonight’s Cardinals vs. Rockies game.

Re: Big night for Fedde
I’m not sure a good outing tonight against a bad Rockies team moves the needle. Maybe if he looks good tonight and puts a 2nd good start together before the deadline. Will have to show he’s “found something”. What that is, I have no idea.
Unless you attach a 2nd player in the trade with more value, not sure you can expect anything coming back. Either way, he needs to be gone in August and Sept and give those innings to someone else we need to evaluate for next year.

The time to trade Fedde was offseason, at the latest being that time he flirted with a no no.
Not sure a good outing against this dumpster of a team will change anything

Re: Big night for Fedde
what they'll see is a 3-inning look at Matz after Fedde is clobbered out of the game early.ramfandan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 10:03 am Should be a considerable number of scouts in attendance at tonight’s Cardinals vs. Rockies game.

I was thinking like you that Fedde would have one more start BUT ...peterman'srealitytour wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 10:27 am I’m not sure a good outing tonight against a bad Rockies team moves the needle. then I went into GM mode . I thought if I was GM and Fedde looked good tonight , I would attempt to trade him PRIOR to his next start in 5 days ..
Keep the positive good outing in their minds and let the acquring team get the next start from him just after the trade . Just a thought .
When a team says , why aren't you going to start him again ?.. reply , 'we have a few teams we are talking to and don't want to risk an injury for him .. getting hit with a line shot ! You know how hard they hit the ball back ! Oops ! I didn't mean to say that ! ' lol
Re: Big night for Fedde
So tonight after 5 innings IF Fedde has performed decent, I'm taking him out and risking no more exposure in high altitude.

Many teams think they can fix a pitcher, just as the Cardinals do. Fedde's shown he can be effective and as everyone knows, you can never have too much pitching. His price won't be what it was this past offseason, but he's definitely on the block.

Re: Big night for Fedde
With a solid outing some playoff aspirant may be desperate enough to take him as their #5 inning eater to save their bullpen.
But anything above a low level lotto type prospect back would be a steal.

I can't believe they're going to 'showcase' him in that hitters park.
This is just a Mo plan to drive his value down so Bloom can't get anything in a trade.
