Walker's hitting better last few games
Do you think with all these scouts out and about watching these games before deadline that Mo may get some trade calls on his availability ?
Your thoughts .
Should Cardinals keep JWalk or 'move him ' at deadline ?

so silly, walker is 23 and has been a huge disappointment thus far...trading him would be absolutely ridiculous because you would be giving away a kid who stil could be a star for nothing

It depends on what you can get but no team is going to trade a top prospect for him based on short uptick
Re: Walker's hitting better last few games
his stance isn't so straight up as before is a difference I noticed. I'm hoping he can get to outside pitches better than before (and stop swinging at everything that is off the plate inside). I don't know why, as tall as he is, he doesn't come down even more.
standing so straight up the way he does, he never gets to the low outside pitch.

Re: Walker's hitting better last few games
He's still lunging a little bit on outside corner pitches and he absolutely HAS to learn how to foul off pitches to give himself another chance at a mistake instead of watching strike 3. TBS, the new stance is SUCH an improvement. Far less pre-swing motion and without his hands being so high he's likely to cut down on those overhand slams into the dirt. 5 for his last 12 and a .500 OBP.boulanger wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 00:12 am his stance isn't so straight up as before is a difference I noticed. Man... if JWalk, Gorman, Burly, Winn, and Herrera could all post a 2+ WAR with at least a 110 OPS+ each these last 61 games I'd consider this season a total success. If all 5 of those could enter next year having finally tapped into their true potential of all being 5+ WAR players, that's a decent core for the future if you throw in Donny and compliment with Noot and VSII.
Sounds like a pipe dream at this point but it's still very possible.

He looks more like Judge when he swings the bat. Just play him!

Re: Walker's hitting better last few games
With the league knowing Mo's trade history, I would bet that a majority of the league has called asking about Walker's availability. It would be absolutely foolish to trade him. His cieling is still way higher than what they'd get in a trade.
Re: Walker's hitting better last few games
Cards are probably gun shy to trade away potentially good players after seeing what happened with Arozarena, Alcantara, Gallen, Garcia, Thomas, etc.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 06:27 amWith the league knowing Mo's trade history, I would bet that a majority of the league has called asking about Walker's availability. Isn’t it a shame the that under MO the Cards have no one employed who can develop, nurture, teach, or even know if they have a prospect who has real talent……countless feckless names have been brought to ML club for “tryouts” under MO’s “gotta see what we have” and most have failedCranny wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:06 amCards are probably gun shy to trade away potentially good players after seeing what happened with Arozarena, Alcantara, Gallen, Garcia, Thomas, etc.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 06:27 amWith the league knowing Mo's trade history, I would bet that a majority of the league has called asking about Walker's availability. What is he getting a few more singles?
I mean big, bad 6'5" 250 lb kid has to discombobulate his body to leg out a single.
Not impressed.

They just aren't that talented as players.Goldfan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:10 amIsn’t it a shame the that under MO the Cards have no one employed who can develop, nurture, teach, or even know if they have a prospect who has real talent……countless feckless names have been brought to ML club for “tryouts” under MO’s “gotta see what we have” and most have failedCranny wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:06 amCards are probably gun shy to trade away potentially good players after seeing what happened with Arozarena, Alcantara, Gallen, Garcia, Thomas, etc.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 06:27 amWith the league knowing Mo's trade history, I would bet that a majority of the league has called asking about Walker's availability. Drafting High schoolers, is a no no for me...can take too long to see what you have and they may run out of options before you do. This may be the case with JWs

No one wants a 6-6/250 Pete Kozma type hitter, which is what Walker is right now. Scott has a higher slg% than Walker.
Re: Walker's hitting better last few games
get Garcia and Thomas off that list and you might have a pointCranny wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 08:06 amCards are probably gun shy to trade away potentially good players after seeing what happened with Arozarena, Alcantara, Gallen, Garcia, Thomas, etc.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025 06:27 amWith the league knowing Mo's trade history, I would bet that a majority of the league has called asking about Walker's availability.
