Disturbing trend

Post by Hoosier59 »

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen so many batters swing at such awful pitches as I’ve seen since the All-Star break. Masyn Winn, Jordan Walker, and Victor Scott didn’t look too bad today, but everyone else, well…..
How can Major league batters continue to take pitches right down the middle, but swing at pitches a foot off the plate! It’s simply mind boggling how bad this team is at pitch recognition! Donovan gets two hits in the All- Star game, but now looks totally lost.
Herrera has been so good this year, but he got fooled so bad today. He even hit himself in the head with his bat after one at bat, my thinking is it wasnt hard enough. Sometimes Contreras looks so bad at the plate, it’s a wonder he is able to keep that .250 average of his! I can’t figure this team out. I’m not one of those that thinks there is no talent on this team, but MAN, something is wrong somewhere! They were so good early on, how do they go from that to being this bad now!
They had bases loaded, no outs, and the top three hitters up, and managed a measly run on a slow chopper. All three hitters’ approach were awful in that situation. Is it game strategy, trying to do too much, or what? All three hitters were trying to pull every pitch they swung at, and every pitch was away and off the plate, or high and out of the strike zone. Just terrible situational hitting!
