Attempt to convince Gray, Contreras, Mikolas, and Arenado to waive their NTCs. (The last 2 won't fetch much but will open playing spots).

Deal Gorman, Walker, or Burleson over the winter.

See what offers are out there for Donovan between now and Opening Day 2026.

Wetherholt, Church, Baez, and Matthews should see time in August/September.

Its a rebuild. Time to get off their (donkey) and make changes. Mozeliak is so (bleep) lazy his version of rebuild is do nothing.

I would keep JoJo, Gray, and Contreras. Mikolas will be gone, untradable. Trade Gorman off season, keep Burly and Walker. Keep Donovan, he's a player. Trade Nado if you can, there may actually be a chance at the deadline. Trade Noot. Trade all expiring contracts ie Fedde, Matz, Hels, Maton etc al. at the deadline.

I think you have to start with getting Miles and Fedde gone, even if you just cut them. Gray if you can get a decent return (I know not #1 prospect). Also Helsley and Maton for sure. IF you get those five gone, I think you may need to keep Matz. He can either be a starter the rest of the year or your closer. He's not going to bring a lot and if those 5 are gone, you need someone to pitch.

Gray, Fedde, and Miles who replaces them? McGreevy for one but who else? I'd say Matz. Now if Matz will bring more in trade then Fedde, then keep running Fedde out there for 150 pitches a game. In fact that might be the way to go (well not 150).

If an Arenado trade can be worked out sure, do it. Give Gorman a few weeks at 3rd. Willie, you know this team can probably use his fire to get through this season and then look for a trade on him.

Noot, it's time. There is nothing in his past college, minors or MLB to indicate he will ever be more then what we've seen. To me he's a 4th OFer on a winning team. Now if the Cards had Rolen, Edmonds and Albert sure you can have Noot out there on a regular basis. We don't have that, we three OFers who have barely hit 20 homer for the three.

0-20% chance of making playoffs and advancing? If that is where you see them then go all in on rebuild.

20-70% making playoffs and MAYBE win a series? Stand pat.

70-100% chance playoffs and a serious contender? Go all in adding pitching and a bat.

I rank them at the 0-20%. Low end of. And I hope they elect to deal for 2027 as a goal to return to a real contender.
There is only once decision. Sell.
Anything else is moronic.

Year 1 - We sold in 2023, and got prospects.

Not a rebuild. jettisoned some players once the writing was on the wall.

year 2 - 2024 - we drafted high, didn't spend much, hired Bloom, announced the end of Mo's tenure. Offseason we let Goldy, Lynn and that other guy walk

They were not in rebuild when they signed Gray? Didn't spend much? Only the highest payroll ever at $180 mil. And kept Goldie. What you are listing happened AFTER the year ended which is on 2025 and year 1 of the rebuild. They were all in in 2024 not rebuild.

Problem is besides Helsley and Donovan what are you going to trade that's a proven commodity anybody would give any kind of return for?
This is correct. The only change that can be made that might provide a spark to make the playoffs is to fire Oli. I am not one that totally bashes Oli. It’s doubtful results would be much better with a better more qualified manager in my opinion. Many disagree but this roster is weak in so many areas. However sometimes a managerial change makes a difference.

Mo and Bloom should concentrate on dumping expiring contract and if at all possible move Arenado and his NTC.
