Pittsburgh without a doubt. They've tasted the success of tanking not once, but twice (Lemieux & Crosby) and will not hesitate to do it again after winning 5 cups since the tankathon began in Pitt.

STL fan in MN wrote: 19 Jul 2025 10:53 am Pittsburgh for sure is tanking hard. Big sell off there. Chicago and SJ will still suck. The Isles don’t look very good IMO. Philly, Boston…maybe Seattle. But PIT, CHI and SJ are who I expect at the way bottom.
Don’t forget Nashville.
And I could see the League “weighing” the lottery to get the Bedard/McKenna rivalry to pump those market(because we all know the League would never do that).
I can't see the league doing that for Nashville. I honestly believe the only draft the league actually rigged was Sid to Pittsburgh. They didn't want the Pens to move, and the team was failing financially. Getting Sid fixed all that.

If I'm the league and I have an opinion on where I'd like to see McKenna land, it would be Detroit or Utah. Probably Utah. The NHL really wants "Rivalries" adding that kid to the Utah roster will make for some great games against Vegas. If he goes to Detroit, Chicago vs Detroit becomes something again.

Just my $.02 anyway.
Vegas and Utah aren't in the same division so they will never really have a rivalry.

I sincerely hope that Pitt doesn't trade Crosby for 2 really big reasons.

1) In the era of UFA and a salary cap to see one guy, especially one like him, to play for only one team his entire career is something we are going to see less and less so it would be special

2) If he gets placed on the block rumors are The Avs will do whatever it takes to get him and he would agree to go there. Can you imagine a playoff series where you have to deal with Mackinnon, Makar, and Crosby? Yeah no thanks.

They are following a plan. Time will tell if they’re doing it right
You're 100% correct - there't no guarantee that they're doing things right because you never know how a 17/18 year old prospect will develop.

Part of the reason I find “draft grades” hilarious
For every Bedard or Celebrini there’s a Yakupov or Daigle

If you're referring to me, I never said I was convinced that the NHL rigged the Crosby election. I said I THOUGHT that IF they did rig a draft in favor of one team, due to the situation in Pittsburgh at that time, I'd believe it to be that one. You say "There's nothing you can say to the person who chose that path". Yet you tried. Even if it wasn't directed at me, you tried. Good on ya! The group has noticed, a +1 to your Charisma.
Thank you for further explaining the nuances of what particular food the mealworms like to eat

Good point. The other thing is draft grades for forwards are all offensively based and the NHL is a 200’ game. Bedard is really struggling on defense and can’t win a FO to save his life. He needs to be a 150pt player because his defense costs his team 20 goals a year.

Bedard might end up being a winger just based on how many centers Chicago have drafted over the past three years that are much bigger and better on defense. For me Nazar is a much better overall player - I think he has a really good year this season and becomes known as one of the better 21 year olds in the league.
