The #STLCards just announced the following moves:

- INF Nolan Gorman (lower back pain) placed on 10-day Injured List, retroactive to July 18

- INF Thomas Saggese recalled from Memphis (AAA)

Interesting that his lower back is hurt bad enough for a DL stint just one game back from the ASB.

I'd really like NoGo to turn into a true dependable MLB power bat, but I'm starting to think he may have a chronic back that is always one tweak away from a DL stint.

Gorman back issues are a concern at his age

I am approaching 77 years of age and just went to Physical Therapy for back and hip pain. It is good enough now that I don't have to take the long needle in the lumbar region. Wonder what his routine is, and if he is lifting weights that aggravates his back. He might be really damaged goods. Shame.

Has anyone ever stated exactly what it is or is it still just “lower back?”

I have had lower back issues for years starting from a deadlifting incident and at least once a year have a flare up where I can barley walk for a few days then just have the pain and immobility for a few weeks. Just recently got an MRI done and was basically told I had a herniated disc bad enough that no therapy/meds can fix it and surgery will be required. And that it should get done now before it becomes an emergent thing.

I just wonder if it’s something similar and he’s hoping for better results when he should just get surgery done and be done with it and move on with his life. The kid has enough going on whiffing at the plate to worry if he will even be able to stay healthy ever if he ever does figure it out….

2018 injured back deadlifting. Rotational movement he’s fine bending forward cause problems.

He’s damaged. He can only DH long term.

Thanks for the article.

The article I just read on MLB app said he actually hurt it in high school. But injured it again in 2020 deadlifting.

Another article I read said he injured it deadlifting in 2018 so who knows.

Nootbaar.....Gorman......Walker.
All three have shown flashes of promise.
All three have had injury issues.
All three have been a roller coaster ride.

I readily admit.....if put in my hands I’m not sure WHAT I would do with any of the three???
Trade?? Keep???
