Tommy Edman
Is now 2 for his last 38 and is now hitting .220 with a .664 OPS
Reading Dodgers Twitter he is the most overrated and overpaid out of every Dodgers player and they are clamoring to trade him.
He had a really nice playoffs last year, got paid, and then forgot how to hit. But if you look back he never really had a nice OBP or OPS.

Yep. From 2020 to 2023 he, dare I say, wasn’t great….vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 13:18 pm Is now 2 for his last 38 and is now hitting .220 with a .664 OPS

It was pretty hilarious when posters who slammed him saying he was overrated and just another scrappy white guy the cards love suddenly did an about face when he got traded to the dodgers saying mo was a fool and how awesome he was then there were all the daily threads when he got off to the hot start as if he was going to somehow become a hitter he has never been his entire career then silence same with O’Neil you don’t see the daily O’Neil threads anymore

I bet this (deferred money) is one of the big changes we see in the new CBA.
Re: Tommy Edman
The Cardinals received Fedde and Pham for Edman in 3 team deal. Yep MO Ran sure screwed the Dodgers and W Sox.
Great probability of playing AGAIN in the WS, so T Edman is definitely a lousy player. Pham is a Pirate and Fedde is just plain horrible.

Re: Tommy Edman
Well without him they most likely don’t win the WS last year. I don’t think the Dodgers regret the trade

I tend to give guys a pass when they’re playing through injuries. Hopefully for him he has a healthy offseason and looks different in 2026vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 13:18 pm Is now 2 for his last 38 and is now hitting .220 with a .664 OPS

Re: Tommy Edman
He’s not a very good offensive player.
Also, the Fedde trade was still a good one

Cardinals received Fedde: -3 runs above average
Cardinals received Pham: -6 runs above average
Dodgers received Edman: +7 runs above average
So far we are down 16 runs on this trade.
Also, Edman hits LH pitchers, which seems to have become a big need for STL.
I liked the trade at the time it was made, but it seems that we lost this trade.
The Dodgers extended him for 4 more years. If they regret that now, that $65M is on them.
If they want out of that contract, we can trade them Arenado $45M/2.4yrs for Edman $57M/4.4yrs and Muncy $4M/0.4yrs.

I got too many overpaid players on the Cardinals to worry about rather than fussing about Dodgers overpaid players.

Edman is 100% a guy you trade before you have to pay him.vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 13:18 pm Is now 2 for his last 38 and is now hitting .220 with a .664 OPS

Career .259 hitter with a .313 OBP and .710 OPS. You do not have to pay guys to put up this type of production. Take out that 2019 season and his career numbers are not good at all.
