Cards slide to tie for 5th in wildcard race

Post by ramfandan »

Cardinals started the night 1.5 games back of the Padres for 3rd wildcard spot. With Padres win tonight coupled with Cardinal lost , St. Louis is now 2.5 games behind .
Though Giants lost , they still maintain their 1 game lead over Cardinals and are currently in the 4th WC position.

The Reds were victorious and have a 3 game winning streak and moved into a tie with the Cardinals for the 5th WC position with a 51-47 record.
D'Backs gained a game on Cardinals but are still 3 back in 6th spot.

Cards were not impressive tonight . That's an understatement I know.

Mo is gonna say it takes two to tango or couldn’t get right return to justify sitting on his donkey again at the deadline.

Sounds about right. We're just not that good. Light hitting and lousy pitching. Poor in game management.
I just wanna see JW develop, along with several of our other younger players, eg. Burleson, Gorman, Nootbar, Winn, et al.. I hope I am wrong, but I believe the wild card is a pipe dream at this point.
