This game far from over. We only need 3 more baserunners to have a chance.

The Zona pen is the 2nd worst in baseball. 30 blown leads.

But not bad enough to blow a 7-run lead.

That didn’t age well. Herera swinging at first strike not good baseball.

For my part I apologize for that abysmal game. The 9th inning was a temporary respite from the garbage. I never like hearing the home team cheering like that. But, when your pitching is that terrible one can only expect so much.

On the bright side no one threatened us with bodily harm! (I still have LAD stadium baseball ptsd from various scary experiences)

Live baseball... still fun regardless of the outcome.

Last month and half Brewers have best record in MLB.
They don’t get tons of pub as no household star names..Yelich closest
But starting pitching very good … bullpen good.. Megill closer
They play very good D, steal lot of bases, take extra bases,
Can manufacture runs.
8th consecutive win tonight.
They won 8 in a row earlier. Only team in MLB to do that.
Tonight’s shutout on 3 hits was 9th shutout this year.

We flew down to the game from Northern AZ.
Love the stadium.
Not a big fan of all the Spanish (and I speak Spanish) “vamos dbacks” on the screens, serpientes for jersey. Felt like we were in Northern Mexico.
Was so excited to Walker’s home run until it was caught.
Game pretty depressing. Good cardinal crowd. Highlight was air conditioning and $2.30 value hot dogs along with really good last minute tickets on game time.

Ps Herrera’s at bats looked awful. Hope it was just this game.

A PS stat on last month and half I mentioned above..
Since May 18th , Milwaukee is 36-15

They are hot !

Talk about a flat performance. This group looked dead. Bad game or worry of deadline deals?

Yeah but wasn’t it great seeing Walker back in the lineup?

That's part of the problem now. They're all trying to hit the ball out of the stadium. That leads to a lot of pop ups and foul outs. I would argue that they need to "slap" the ball more not less. Arizona scored 5 runs on "slap hits" mostly.
Slap hits are different than infield ground outs. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
Ground balls are even subject to fielder errors and batted ball luck. That's part of Pallante's problem, he's subject to batted ball luck too much because he doesn't miss bats. The 82 Cards won the World Series and there was only one team that hit less homeruns, Houston. So many players now don't even care about making contact and directional hitting. They just swing for the homerun every swing. That's why I loved Yadi's approach. 1st strike? Swing for the fences. 2nd strike? Swing for the fences. 3rd strike? Try to slap the ball through the right side for a hit. A great approach. It's infuriating to watch a player not change his approach and hit into the teeth of the defense. They want to play the 3rd baseman at the short stop position? Fine, slap the ball down the line for a double. But no, they just swing away in hope of the almighty home run. That's a major factor in why most players can't hit .300 any more.

Pallante’s problem is more about command. Contact pitchers who can put the ball where the batter can’t get a good swing, are very successful at this level.

They're still subject to errors and batted ball luck. No matter how you present it that will never change. Put the ball in play and good things can and do happen for the offense. Even runs can score on double play balls, but not stikeouts usually.
