If he's up, he HAS to play. I'm just not sure where.

The only player Walker should, possibly, play over is Gorman against LHP. Could the Cardinals be auditioning Walker for a possible trade?

He can't play over Burly or Herrera. I'm not sure where he's going to get playing time since those are the only 2 positions that he can play, RF and DH..

Right on the heels of losing his number. Poor Saggese.

He wasn't full time when he was here, so let's see how this plays out. He's likely back on the bench, and only playing vs. LHP.

It doesn't matter who plays, we're not contenders/buyers.

We're, hopefully, in showcase mode the next 13 days. Showcasing our selling chips.

Good call on bringing up Walker... 18 Ks in 60 PA while hitting .185.

Guess they're really trying to not burn his option year.

he should've put the Number in the Box, then he wouldn't have had to think about the Box and the Number.

it happens every time. The number gets outside of the box and runs away

Auditioning him for a trade? Doubtful unless he's part of a package.

Preparing to trade someone else (Nootbaar, Gorman, Burleson, Donovan)?

He didn't need to be back for a long time

I'm fine with him primarily being a bench guy. I just don't want him playing over any hot bats...

Would you rather have him down now and burn the option year for 2 months or keep him up for the 2.5 months and send him to Memphis next year until he proves he can hit?

They’ve put themselves into a no win position really.

They intend to play him almost everyday. Otherwise they'd leave him in Memphis.

They shouldn’t think of trading him now. He’s still young for a couple more years.

Remember when they gave up on Garcia who was around 25 at the time (Gorman's age) and traded Arroz para la cena (about Walker's age) ? Of course they were Cubans who both morphed into Hulks after getting away from the Cardinals and became those RH power bats we so sorely needed..

That's what I'm afraid of.... He would be better off finishing the season in Memphis..
