Banana Ball
Anyone watch this [nonsense]? I: was going to post this in the Cardinals section but that would be blasphemy. And people actually pay to see those games?

Re: Banana Ball
My son and I are going to one of the Bananas games in STL in a couple weeks. We're looking forward to it.
And yes, we paid for the tickets.

Man you old fuddy duddy. ha ha
They are selling out all over the country and have been for a few years now. I have had a bunch of friends go with their families and they all really enjoyed it, said it was a great family event/outing.

They remind me of The Harlem Globetrotters. Just having some fun with the game.

Re: Banana Ball
CBS's "60 Minutes" gave Banana Ball its due in a report just a few weeks ago. Pure fun, for the players, umps, and fans. Like Willie Stargell famously said during the Pirates' "We Are Family" reign, "The ump doesn't start the game by yelling "WORK ball!". He yells "PLAY ball!".
There's a current Jardiance commercial showing a Banana Ball-like ballclub gaily dancing and singing, no doubt inspired by Savannah. Bill and Mike Veeck would be proud.
