Is it time to move on from Walker
Here's the question:
Are you at the point that if they moved on and he got on track somewhere else you'd accept it. Let's say he goes onto Miami and hits .280 with 25 hr and 80 rbi, would you be fine with it. I think Dylan Carlson definitely ended up in that category. If he put up numbers like that I don't think anyone here would give a [shirt].

I would be ok with it, Burleson is way better anyway
Re: Is it time to move on from Walker
You underestimate this place. Carlson hasn’t produced enough for people to give a [shirt]. But if he turned into something in Baltimore you bet they would.imadangman wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 15:58 pm Here's the question:

As to whether I’m at that spot or not, I don’t think I’m quite there yet, I’d prefer to see what Bloom and his staff will do.

Who’s Walker?imadangman wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 15:58 pm Here's the question:

No way. There's time for him to get it together. He can work it out in the minors
Re: Is it time to move on from Walker
Herrera could end up in the outfield, too. Herrera and Burleson might be OK, offensively, as corner outfielders, production-wise. I would hope Herrera could be at least average, defensively in LF.

Only for so long though. He is currently on rehab. If they keep him down in the minors after his rehab is over then they have to use an option, which is his final option. So either you keep him there as long as you can on rehab and then call him up and keep him up the rest of the season, even as a 4th OF, and keep the option available to send him down for as much as he needs next year. Or you burn the final option, hope he gets it together really quickly since there’s only like a couple more months left of the AAA season, and have to have him up no matter what going forward.

As soon as he’s out of options, he’s gone.

IMO if Walker is going to succeed, it's not going to be here.
There is no possibility Mo trades him now. But it will be an interesting early test of Bloom and his mettle if he bring himself to do what needs to be done this winter.

Yeah, that's a tough call I guess I would keep the option so you're not forced to keep him on the roster next spring.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 16:21 pmOnly for so long though. Rather its time to move on from the "philosophy" that corner OF'ers aren't supposed to be major offensive producers.

Just Worthless stays on AA till he proves he can hit, then goes to AAA...rinse and repeat.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 16:21 pmOnly for so long though. He is currently on rehab. Gotta earn a sniff at MLB. He's got all next year toake it out of the minors. Gotta go all JJ to do it.
If not...adios Just Worthless
Re: Is it time to move on from Walker
Once his rehab time is up he can’t finish this season in the minors and have next year in the minors. He can have one or the other. Cute nicknames though. It’s like you’re a kindergartner.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 16:32 pmJust Worthless stays on AA till he proves he can hit, then goes to AAA...rinse and repeat.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 16:21 pmOnly for so long though. Thanks for clarification. I keep him down till it leaves an option for him to start next year in the minors.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 16:37 pmOnce his rehab time is up he can’t finish this season in the minors and have next year in the minors. He deserves the nickname
