How do they compare? Both are LH starters drafted top 11 from Tennessee. Crochet was previously the highest drafted (11th overall) pitcher from Tennessee until Chase Dollander got drafted 9th overall by the Rockies in 2023. Now Doyle holds that title I believe.

Crochet went straight to the MLB without even touching the minors. White Sox started him in the bullpen before moving him to the rotation.
It will be interesting to see how the Cardinals handle Doyle.

I think they're different. Doesn't Crochet rely on his Change up? That's a typical staple in a LHP's arsenal. Doyle doesn't have one. Fastball and Splitter, yeah?Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 15:17 pm How do they compare? Both are LH starters drafted top 11 from Tennessee. Re: Doyle and Crochet
that's incredible....thanks. I thought he did. It's one of his better pitches, or at least I thought it was.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 15:25 pmNo, Crochet barely uses his changeup.craviduce wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 15:22 pmI think they're different. from the fastball stand point, if you lump the Sinker and Cutter with 4seamer....their fastball usage is similar
Re: Doyle and Crochet
Just putting their names together in any comp has me encouraged.
For some reason makes me think of Boone and Crocket, ha.

Fingers/Eyes/Toes crossed he's Crochet level good!
Best pitcher on Keith Law’s draft board.
I hope C. Bloom is aggressive.
I want to see JJW in the 2026 OD lineup & Doyle no lower than Memphis for s short stay if he's dominate.
