Grading the Re-Whatever
Where's the current grade for the Re-Whatever? It was a monumental project/effort in 2022.
How did we do -- so far?
- No 2C in the lineup. Desperate need for it.
- No RHD in the lineup. Desperate need for it. Bolduc was traded away in an attempt to acquire it.
- We are one of the oldest defenses in the league.
- Prospects ranked around 15th in the league.
- 2023 was thought to be the best talent in many years.
- 2024 appears to be even better than 2023
Grade: D
The Re-Whatever accomplished very little for the Blues. Relative to talent acquisition, we definitely lost ground. Yes, we did get to the playoffs in 2025, but we did so on the backs of veterans who have already left the team (Faksa) and players who will likely be leaving soon (Fowler). Where is the proof that the re-whatever got us to the playoffs? There is none. Zero. The prospects are still developing, so the book is not closed. Time will tell.

I'm thinking Pearl Cafe in Florissant. Best Thai in the Lou.

That place is really good. Some other staples to hit if you find yourself in north county and are off lindbergh. Cuginos, grab yourself the meatballs, they are some of the best I've ever had. Then go across the street and grab some breaded hot wings from Locker Room. Top 5 in St. Louis for sure.Army's Mom wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 10:45 am I'm thinking Pearl Cafe in Florissant. In regards to the rebuild? F-. Why does it get this grade? Because a smell of goblin guts told us he would leave if the Blues won a game in the playoffs. Well they forced a game 7 and this turd is still here. Rebuild successful. Rebuild successfully getting the dumpster feeders out of the can? Not so hot.

How could you not mention Hendels? It's the best in all of North County.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 10:52 amThat place is really good. Anybody ever heard of Taco Bell? Stumbled into one randomly the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Never had a chalupa before but darn it, if I wasn’t impressed. And the Baja Blast? Forget about it…

Hendels is good stuff. Tried to stay on Lindbergh. If we are going to name every place that is iconic then I agree with you. Pirrones and Angelos obviously would have to be dropped. 2 of the best to do it STL style. Also some of the best chinese you can get in STL, Florissant Chop Suey. Place always hits. Recommend the hot braised chicken. Legit the thing I crave the most not living in STL. Can't get a proper hot braised chicken anywhere outside of St. Louis.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 11:02 amHow could you not mention Hendels? Re: Grading the Re-Whatever
The grade is incomplete.
It's definitely going better than most. For example, the Kings won the cup in 2014. They have missed the playoffs 5 times since then and they have not won a playoff series since.
The Blackhawks won the Cup in 2015. They missed the playoffs 7 times out of 10 since and have not won a playoff series since. Their best finish in the past 4 years is 14th in the West. 30th, 31st, 31st overall the past 3 seasons.
The Penguins won the Cup in 2016 and 2017. They have not made the playoffs the past 3 seasons and have not won a playoff series in the past 5.
The Blues won in '19. They have made the playoffs 4 out of 6 since. They have won 1 playoff series. They have been 80 games above .500 in the regular season since '19 (one game below .500 in '22-'23 which was their worst since the cup).
We will see how the re-whatever goes here. So far, not too bad.
And Taco Bell is really under-rated if you know what to order there. Even the weird tacos at Jack in the Box aren't bad at all if you like the hot sauce from the packets.

Re: Grading the Re-Whatever
Agree. The grades are kind of funny to do right now. Also, it's only been two years since the Blues traded away the core. It's quite remarkable they've transitioned into a likely playoff team that quick. That 2023 draft will be a game changer.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 11:33 am The grade is incomplete.

I love Jack-in-the-box tacos. It's a treat.
Too bad you all don't have Taco Time out there. That's some good stuff for fast food.

Re: Grading the Re-Whatever
ASSOGG, ask Theo when the Blues will get back to the playoffs. Oh, wait . . .
Things I cannot find here locally in Woodstock, GA:
- Pork steaks (have to special order the cuts)
- Toasted ravioli
- Ted Drewes (frozen custard)
- Gooey butter cakes (Publix bakery staff looked at me like I was crazy when I described them)
- Sicilian chicken (the Thursday lunch special)
- Jack in the Box tacos
- Fescue (Bermuda and zoysia everywhere)
- Imo's
- White Castle
- Clydesdales at the local brewery
- Water in my basement
Things I have that I didn't in St. Louis:
- A boat on a nearby lake (Lake Allatoona)
- Pine needles clogging my gutters
- Shrimp boil (when Mizzou played Alabama for the SEC Championship a few years back I attended an event hosted by HP where they filled an entire canoe to the brim with shrimp boil).
- A son-in-law and a daughter-in-law
- Boiled peanuts
- 3 extra tons of AC
- Quilts hanging on every wall in my house
