Bingo.

Also, management has said the decision was not about the cost of Kelly's contract. (Fans can choose to believe that or disbelieve. IMO, if management were looking to save money, it wouldn't be increasing production costs.)

key quotes: According to the Blues’ CEO [Zimmerman], the move had much to do with keeping up with changing times and adapting to them.

“When you look at the scope of our business, what we’re investing in, how we’re investing in the business, how we invest in players, it’s just not the driver,” Zimmerman said. “We’re not going to save our way to success here.
“We’re going to win in a new media world based on how good the product is, how engaging and, oh yes, of course, a big part will also always be about the quality of the team and how entertaining they are.”
This is important for people to understand. Who are the faces of the franchise? It's the players, Monty, Army, and the broadcast crew. ASK your everyday person in STL what John Kelly looks like. Will they have a mental image of him. Does his voice stand out for them? Well that's the role that Vitale is going to fill. Kirbs is elite at play by play as well. They created this role because the Blues already had 2 of the best call's in the game. And they are thrusting Vitale into the face of the media arm. Do I like the decision? Not really. But I can understand it. It's about being dynamic. And Kelly is somewhat of a relic to the old school way of doing things.

So they hired Pronger and gave more air to Strickland?

If Blues management wanted him. They would of had him.
Also. Panger just wouldn't make things up. When he said. Blues did him wrong.

In the beginning it was a announcer that turned me into a fan of Blues hockey. A Kelly no less.

Having another broadcast team having a pod cast while the games on in the back ground. Doesn't do anything for me. Just another company guy talking about how great Schenn, and Neighbors are at getting hit by the puck while being pushed on and Army's genius at putting together a bubble team.

I'm a hockey fan, and I don't fandom any team when the I can't stand those calling the game or having a pod cast.

There's not been one thing blues management has done this summer that's been good for the organization.

Pronger was on a few of the telecasts and also appeared on ESPN during the playoffs, is beloved as well. I can see the desire to slowly work him in.

Stickland though, his interviews are consistently boring and generally very awkward. I don't begrudge the guy, he works his (donkey) off, but live tv interviews just aren't his thing and it is time the higher ups realize that.

When did Panger say the Blues did him wrong? He stated they negotiated and couldn't come to an agreement so they parted ways and he ended up back where he started. Never heard him say he was wronged.

Never saw any of that. But I'm sure he said that too.

I saw he was "disappointed" "at this decision to remove" and that "John always treated people with respect"

And that says it all.
