Next 16 of 19 games against NL West
Good morning.
Next 16 of our 19 games against the West, including the Padres 7 times. Miami makes up the other 3 games.
We have 22 games against the Division left, with the Cubs being the most.
Then 23 games scattered among Yanks Rays A’s Seattle giants.
We sit five games over, 6.5 games back.
Thoughts.

Re: Next 17 of 20 games against NL West
That's going to be a tough stretch. Glad Marlins and Rockies are mixed in that run. Need to win 2 from each of DBacks, Marlins, and Rockies. Then try to survive 7 against Padres and 3 against the Dodgers. Say 3-4 with Padres, 1-2 against Dodgers. 6-3 against DBacks, Marlins and Rockies. So 10-9 overall?

He in lies the math problem. Technically we have three stretches left of 19 games each, plus 8 games. 65 games ish.HorseTrader wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 07:28 am That's going to be a tough stretch. If we go 10-9 per stretch, that would not gain, and may lose ground, in the races. We need a 16-3 stretch.
Time has run out. It’s not early anymore.

Cards 6 games vs the NLW is the fewest in MLB by any team vs one division.
What an idiotic schedule.
At 5-1 the Birds seem to like playing the NLW, let's hope it continues.
You say 16 games coming up vs NLW?
I'll go 10 - 6

Teams get streaky. These things never play out like they project on paper, that’s why they play the games.

6-10 would be my guess

Love my Redbirds. Hoping for the best. But I believe Schildty has the edge over Marmol. Padres may hurt our playoff chances

I know bulldog, I just don't see them doing much better against the Dodgers and Padres. So to get to 16-3 they have to sweep DBacks, Marlins and Rockies, that's 9, now they to win 7 of 10 from the Padres and Dodgers. I would love for it to happen but I just don't see it.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 07:39 amHe in lies the math problem. That’s because it won’t happen. And that’s why the math problem is so stark.HorseTrader wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 10:30 amI know bulldog, I just don't see them doing much better against the Dodgers and Padres. Flightless bird.

This team just got swept and shut out by the Pirates for 27 innings and lost 2 of 3 to the beaten-up Braves. So anything is possible.HorseTrader wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 07:28 am That's going to be a tough stretch. Glad Marlins and Rockies are mixed in that run. Who was predicting 1-5 for those 6 games?
