The Kyrou Rumors Just Won't Die
Perusing stories this morning the Kyrou speculation is going from bad to worse to laughable.
This one (a Blues writer) thinks they should trade him for Boston's spare parts.

While this one says the Canadiens refused Kyrou in the trade for Mailloux because he's a player in decline whose contract will age badly.

Re: The Kyrou Rumors Just Won't Die
The problem is there is not a lot going on in the NHL, and writers get paid for the clicks so they need to write something. People will not read the article if it is not something good, even if there is nothing to substantiate it. In the last hours I have read three articles on MacDavid getting moved to Vegas, Montreal, and Toronto plus two on moving Hughes before their respective contracts expire. It is just a natural thing this time of year to keep writers employed and fans interesting in the what if possibilities.

I saw another one on X stating that Montreal was still in on Kyrou but were trying to decide who they would give in return. It's all absolutely comical.

Ding ding ding. Not to mention Canadian fans eat this carp like Joey Chestnut consumes hotdogs.rezero wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 07:38 am The problem is there is not a lot going on in the NHL, and writers get paid for the clicks so they need to write something. Same article said Kyrou was willing to waive ntc for Montreal. Attributed to some guy named Maxime Truman.Unfathomable wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 08:01 am Only new tidbit I have seen was Hage and Reinbacher were our ask for kyrou.

If something happens, we'll probably hear about it. Until then, I just go with the mindset that the roster is set for camp other than the tryout type of invites.
Re: The Kyrou Rumors Just Won't Die
I dont know if every one would like that but. Thats not a bad score. we would have thomas dvorsky hage down the middle. Then parayko Malli and Rein on the rhd side.Unfathomable wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 08:01 am Only new tidbit I have seen was Hage and Reinbacher were our ask for kyrou.

I heard that he eats tacos from the middle.......

I am actually looking forward to more Kyrou and Holloway. Seemed quite dynamic last year.

This is the most likely scenario for what happened already, not what could still happen now.Nublues69 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 09:41 amI dont know if every one would like that but. Montreal asked about Kyrou... the Blues said it would take Reinbacher... Montreal understandably wasn't comfortable giving him up.... the teams pivoted to a smaller deal of Bolduc for Mailloux.
This idea that Dach and Matheson were ever going to be the major pieces coming to the Blues is absurd. It made little sense for us at the time and makes zero sense now. Montreal fans are like Toronto fans. They'll eat up any rumor that they can find and the bloggers take full advantage of that.
Re: The Kyrou Rumors Just Won't Die
It just dawned on me and i check. this trade kyrou scenario is so far fetched and out there that even Eklund from Hockeybuzz.com didnt post about it on his site. No e5 through e3 lol..just thought it was funny

I work with Maxime who is a real close friend of KyrouSmith2Herr wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 09:22 amSame article said Kyrou was willing to waive ntc for Montreal. I overheard them talking about it on a facetime call in the bathroom while I was peeking over the stall
