Payer doesn’t matter. Skillset does. They need a player that projects as a power bat or power pitcher

How did that work out last time?
That Nick Plummer tattoo looks awesome!!
Better than Wallace?
Brett, are those really your legs or are you growing them for a piano?

I don't know, I've never overreacted before. I'm thankful I found this thread to stop me.

Wallace turned out to be a very good pick did it not?

Just another thing for you to put down, with your negative attitude toward everything Cardinal.

Doyle has a high floor but that's a high-end reliever which would be a disappointment for a top 10 pick.

Arnold is a question mark to me because his fastball got hit around this season. He could end up the top player in the draft if his FB can play up better. He has a high floor though because he has a good shot to be at worst a back end starter.

Witherspoon and Bremner deserve top 10 picks too. Witherspoon is a power pitcher with a full arsenal. His pitches need to tick up a bit to be a top end starter. I really think the Rockies should target him because all his pitches have tight spin and that may play up better in Coors.

Bremner started slow but had 10 or more K's, 6+innings, and 3 ir less ER in 6 of his last 7 starts. His dumb college team held him out of their elimination game and went with the normal slot in the rotation. Had he gotten that start and kept up his recent dominance then I think he'd be a slam dunk top 10 and maybe top 5 if a team is looking for a RHP over the lefties. Bremner has the best FB/Changeup combo in the draft but his slider was inconsistent to start the year. Once he locked it in he was dominant. Uc Santa Barbara is not a high end college for developing pitchers too so I think there is a ton of untapped potential with Bremner. Would not be upset if the Cardinals take him at 5.

Aiva Arquette imo is hugely overrated due to him coming from the same school as Bazzana. He would have struggled to be a top 15 pick in last years draft. I don't even think he's the best SS prospect in the draft. He probably isn't even a SS much longer. Goes to show how terrible the college bats are in this draft. I think a guy like Wehiwa Aloy has a better shot at sticking at SS with more power but not as much hit. Alex Lodise has a better chance at sticking and his bat looked just as good this year too. NO college bats are worthy of a top ten pick this year.

I think among preps, Jojo Parker is probably the most high ceiling/high floor. I'm actually surprised he's not the #1 prep player in mocks. Holliday has the power but Parker is lightyears ahead with the hit tool and has shown good power as well. Holliday could not make it if his hit tool doesn't improve, especially his ability to catch up to velocity.

Willits is a huge question mark even though his tools are very enticing. He lacks physicality and the question is does he not have it there or is it a lack of physical maturity with him being so young.
This is an anonymous internet forum. We are supposed to overreact and freak out. That's what internet forums are for
lol true. I'm just trying to drive home the lack of consensus with this draft. Too many question marks.
I'm really focused on what comes after the 1st round. We have the chance to make quite an impact. Not the Mariners type of impact with their 20million in bonus pool, but we can make quite a driving impact for the future. If a guy like Petry is still available @55, I'll forego my wish for a hyper talented HS player who's hard to sign.
Feels like we mailed it in last year after the 1st round compared to the talent that was still there to be selected by other teams. How does a team focused on development do that?

Also if we'd had th 5th pick last year we could have had Jac or Nick Kurtz (or maybe Hagen Smith?). Also Cam Smith was still available and is already in the majors. So even if a little weaker there should be options that can help us big time within a year from today, if done correctly.
