Do you feel Mo can pull off multiple deals at deadline ?

Post by ramfandan »

I have my doubts . Maybe two ?

For him , the better route may be to bundle at least 3 or 4 guys into one 'blockbuster' as they call them . OR become involved in some 3-way deal
with two other teams.
One advantage for him doing that is that it would not be a 1 for 1 or 1 for 2 deal.
So no Helsley for Player X where critics can pick Mo apart. With Helsley ,for example, in a multi-player deal you don't have that issue.
So kinda a Progessive type deal instead of FLO bundling ' it would be Mo bundling !

I hope not. I wouldn't want him to trade a single valuable prospect or intriguing player just to chase the wildcard and a quick 2 game sweepy exit

Bloom should have to sign off on deals that will impact next year and forward. This is no time for Mozeliak to have any final say on what this team looks like after this season.

You people still won’t believe what the team told you before the season. Mo, Bloom, and DeWitt are collaborating on decisions. Dewitt has already said HE breaks all ties.

Mo’s job this season has always been simply to keep the lights on. He handles the day to day affairs of the club. He handles the paperwork. He might even make the call on who gets sent down or called up. He might even handle the negotiations on a trade. BUT…who gets traded for what…that’ll be DeWitt and Bloom’s call.

What do you mean? You people. You have an implied superiority complex.

He might even get to be the "pivot man" on a circle jerk with Bloom, Girsch, DeWitt Jr. and DeWitt III....... :P

Seriously though, I hope you are correct. Mo should have NO final call on any trade for the rest of this season.

If deals are made it will be to get a utility guy that can help the big club but a higher level prospects. Mo will not want to trade for straight up prospects simply because of the message it sends to the big club when there really is not anyone busting down the doors in the minors to get a call up. They want the prospects to retool and send off those guys they are done with. Just have to be creative about it.

MO is a lame duck POBO. The DeWitt’s and Bloom should, if they haven’t already, informed MO he cannot make any trades unless they approve. Really, this would be a good time to turn everything over to Bloom so he can start cleaning up MO’s mess.
