Cards falling back on wildcard hunt

Post by ramfandan »

Currently , the 3rd spot in NL Wildcard is Giants followed by Padres 1/2 game back .. Both teams have 43 losses .
With today's loss, the Cardinals now have 46 losses .

The Cardinals 50-46 record is a .521 which over 162 games = 84 wins They are currently 2.5 games behind in the 3rd wildcard.

The 2024 Cardinals won 83 games and missed the wildcard by 6 games.

We are 96 games into the season. With 12 more games, we will be at the 2/3 mark with just 1/3 of the season remaining.

Not looking good at this time .

Hope is not a strategy....
Things never really looked good unless you are willing to isolate one 20-day stretch...and that doesn't win anything.
It's really sad when "falling back on a wildcard hunt" seems like a perpetual goal.
