Thoughts on Pius Suter?
I'm warming up to Pius.

Sounds like he wants to be in St Louis.

I like the signing. His MO was he plays up to the lines he is assigned. Vancouver would use him on the 3rd and 4th line and then complain about his productivity. The first half of last year they had him on the 4th line with Suter-Blueger-Sherwood. When they moved him up he started playing better and scoring more. By the end of the year he was a 2nd-3rd line player depending upon who was injured. His issue is he is not very good on faceoffs and not really a play maker so teams will also use him on wing, but he can score and can play any position on any line and be productive. What Blues fans will like is he has a little bit of the Saad / Neighbors mentality where he loves working in the crease and always pestering the goalie. He is a garbage goal magnet.

There were times two years ago where I thought he was a stud being mishandled by the Canucks. His skating is underrated, shot underrated, I think he has some pretty good foot speed. If not for the likes of the current and former star Canucks he might have got more time. Feel like this could be another ( near ) Dylan Holloway situation. I think Blues fans are going to like what he brings.

He definitely has some pop to his game.

The Blues definitely needed someone who should be an upgrade to Sunny. Sunny might be hitting a wall in the very near future. I like that Suter is a guy who can match up against a scoring line center.

I think there’s a good chance that he ends up centering the second line between Holloway and Kyrou. There will be lots of movement but this is where I see Monty ending up.

I think every time I hear his name pronounced, I hear John Goodman's voice from Monsters Inc. "Oh so that's puce".

At first, I didn't like his name. But when you get the hang of it, it's kinda cool. I hope that we get 2 Suter's on our team to force the announcers to pronounce "Puce". I can see a drinking game there.

Agreed. I bet he'd light it up there. I'd like to have Dvorsky fight like hell to get the 2C. DVO can learn how to get the garbage goals from Pius.

I wish I could get on the ice for about 25 faceoffs. I need to see how the WIN/LOSS works exactly in real life. To me, the other guys on the team (not taking the faceoff) play a big part is who gets the puck and "wins" the faceoff.rezero wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 17:15 pm I like the signing. I am certain there are a large number of posters that would like to see you take faceoffs against Sunny, Schenn or Thomas. They would eat you alive.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 18:56 pmI wish I could get on the ice for about 25 faceoffs. I need to see how the WIN/LOSS works exactly in real life. I'm flattered. I was unaware that there were some who want to watch my athletic toughness and skill. Please DM me, and I'll let you know where to set up your lawn chair.Aesa wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 20:14 pmI am certain there are a large number of posters that would like to see you take faceoffs against Sunny, Schenn or Thomas. Aesa, no matter how big, I'll always reserve a spot on my planet for your lawn chair. Fear not.Aesa wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 21:05 pmIf your ego gets any bigger, there won't be room on the planet for any humans.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 20:40 pmI'm flattered.
