True enough but that bat sure would've looked good in the Cards line up all this time. Who knows what might have happened.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 11:55 amI would like to see arorzorena but lieberatore is turning into a pretty good start now that they are finally giving him a legitimate chance to start

Yes he has been terribly disappointing. I was really expecting more from him. May be time to move on.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 17:54 pm I'm a Nootbaar believer, but it's tough to justify just giving him a starting spot in the OF. Good for him staying healthy this year, but he's been a big disappointment offensively, aside from a great April, when I thought he was finally putting it all together. Then he had an awful May and an even worse June. Very disappointing.

Defense? More rbi? Not a huge fan of war. Garcia was so bad Texas were purportedly going to demote him to the minors if the drop in batting order didn’t situate him.

Re: Lars Nootbar WAR 1.0
Exactly. It's because of his defense. I wouldn't take Garcia or Bader or Nootbaar right now. Sure, Bader, right now, is having the better offensive season, but we've been down that road before. I'd still rather have Noot. Arozarena....sure, it is what it is, but no sense in continuing to wring hands over that.

No bader? No Garcia? You got something against more cards flailing at sliders outside the zone or something?Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 18:38 pmExactly. It's because of his defense. Re: Lars Nootbar WAR 1.0
WAR isn't the end all be all but it is a tool to show if a player is producing or not. Noot is a 1 WAR outfielder right now and that just isn't good enough for this team. This team needs a star to surround and it doesn't really have one. There's no one on this team that a pitcher is afraid of with the possible exception of Contreras.Absolut wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 19:02 pmNo bader? No Garcia? Re: Lars Nootbar WAR 1.0
This has been my suggestion since last year JDW.
Makes all the sense in the world to give him an OF'er mitt and have J. Jay work w/him all winter and in STing.
Then put him in LF during STing and if he makes the routine plays, then you've finally got a powerful bat in the OF

Ugggh you had to bring that up (and you're right dugoutrex).dugoutrex wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 12:36 pmand ... he gets hurt so much that it will be like TON all over again!rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 12:34 pmThis has been my suggestion since last year JDW.

But you can't keep him in bubble wrap, closest thing would be use him as the full time DH but he could still strain another hammie running the bases.
I'd risk it, give him the OF'ers glove!
