IF they let Oli go (and Mo won't), then D. Descalso would finish out the season.

Not sold that he treats the players like a 'teammate' .. Case in point, remember when he called out Tyler O''Neil publicly for what Oli felt was not running hard from 3rd to home plate. He then benched O'Neil . Oli got some flack for going public and not handling that more in-house by some.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 00:03 am Here’s the thing, I like Oli as a person, and he might be a good coach for younger players, but, in my opinion, he’s not a good Major league manager. He wants to treat the players like a “ teammate “and be their best friend! A good manager can’t always be that. He has to gain their respect, more than their friendship. The two things can exist at the same time, but not on the field, especially during
Game time. I’m also not a fan of Oli’s in game management , and especially his choice of line ups and batting orders.
I hope the Cardinals keep him in some capacity, but not at manager. Yadi, and/or Albert would obviously have the respect of the players right away, and neither would put up with a lot of shenanigans. Their in game management is yet to be seen, but I suspect they both would be better at it than Oli.
It’s just my opinion, but I feel that if either Yadi, or Albert were the Cardinals’ manager, right now, we would ahead of the Cubs.
Here’s hoping Bloom makes the necessary changes that are needed and that the DeWitts let him.

I definitely think that Oli has his favorites, and Tyler wasnt one of them. Willson wasnt either in the beginning, and may not be yet, but they need his bat in the line up, so…ramfandan wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 14:01 pmNot sold that he treats the players like a 'teammate' .. That was sure not an example of being a teammate. I think he is inconsisent on that though as have seen other guys not run out balls etc. and doesn't seem to act in those situations. Maybe Oli didn't get along with Tyler O ..not sure.
His in game management is so so to me. Good nights and bad mixed. My bigger problem is his rotation set up for specific series. Now my theory might not opposed to others on here , but I feel the most important series on your schedule are the ones with your top divisional opponents.. Cubs Brewers . You should set up your rotaton so your best two pitchers get to start in those. Case in point, last 7 games with Cubs how many games did sonny gray start vs Cubbies ? I know Mikolas and Fedde started 4 of the last 7 Cub games. That's poor managing in my book. Pitching both of them multiple times is lessening your odds of winning BIG TIME !
TO issue exposed how dysfunctional the cards setup is. TO says he had been taught a new way to run, and yet here Oli has no idea , and also they start him in center field of all things when he has this new safer injury free (slower) way to run. Ultra stupid or dysfunctional. Oli unaware shows the offices were somehow running too many things and the manager was not in charge of enough or constantly involved/informed. Hence, "puppet"ramfandan wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025 14:01 pmNot sold that he treats the players like a 'teammate' ..
