PCA vs Walker

In PCA’s first full season he hit .237, with an OB% of .286. He hit 10 HR’s with 47 RBI’s.
Walker hit .276, .342%, with 16 HR’s and 51RBI’s in his first year.
When PCA was struggling I don’t remember hearing or seeing where the Cubs were tinkering with his swing, trying to get him to hit more homers or hit more line drives, or sending down to regroup. They just let him play, be himself, and let him figure it out. They were patient with him.
We all know the story of Jordan Walker!
Maybe the Cubs worked with PCA, but the way they handled him and the way the Cardinals deal with their young players is like night and day!
How many other teams would have handled Herrera the way the Cardinals dealt with him , just as another example. One of many I might add. I would argue that Walker, and Winn are nearly as talented, but we aren’t seeing the same results.

PCA is just Harrison Bader on a heater. That's all. Low OBP, above average K's.

Though, I feel Bader was/is a smarter player.

PCA is also a great center fielder. There is no denying that at 14 OAA right now. Bader could never go back on a ball well. And PCA is a far better base runner too. You can't let your Cub hatred color your judgment about a player. But yeah, the low OBP could be a problem going forward. We shall see.

Agree. If he was a cardinal not one person would say he’s harison bade on a heater they would be saying he’s one of the greatest center fielders ever. It’s not even the all star break and he already has more home runs runs rbi and stolen bases than bader ever had in a full season lol

There's a bit of difference in the line up too. No protection for Walker and I agree that they should have left his swing alone. That being said, he's played below average and has a loopy swing, but he has plenty of bat speed when he gets going, he just takes a while to get the bat going. It's probably a consequence of not wanting to strike out for fear he'll be sent down again. At least partly. Walker could be the next Dave Parker or he could be the next AAAA hitter that didn't ever fill his potential. He's still too young to cast aside. He's average to a little below in the field and I could see DH in his future.
