The Fun Bunch Guys

Post by Basil Shabazz »

Tired of the Fun Bunch Guys who are mediocre to bad, but smile alot, are quirky, hustle guys, do cute funny things when the cameras are on, etc..

They may be fun, but they shouldn't be center pieces or in some cases even starters on a competitive MLB team!

I'm talking to you Mikolas, Pages, Noot, Burly!

A Burly is fine if he's 10th starter between DH, 1B and rarely corner OF.

A Noot is fine as a 4th OF.

This team needs strong presence leadership from young players. Young players should emulate Gray and Contrera’s approach. Play hard and play serious. You can still have fun, but the aesthetics of bring goofy when you suck is a huge put off for fans that invest in the team.

Libby and Helsley too.

Beyond that guys like Donny and Winn would be solid #6/7 position players on a true WS contender.

He's the leader! I am sorry, but when you are down 3-0 (again) in the first, you don't smile in the dugout. But, this is on ownership and the GM/POBO. Oli has only two starting pitchers, and 2-3 reliable BP pieces. On the position player side, he also doesn't have a ton to work with, and IH is missing out of the middle of the lineup. Perfect example is Burley playing RF. The guy plays hard, but he is slow. He just missed the diving play and gave it his all, but JW or anyone with some closing speed makes that play and the inning is totally different. Ball to 3B and Saggese blows the throw to the plate. Nado makes that throw in his sleep. They are losing because they have only two SPs, 2 or 3 hitters out, and guys on D who can make routine plays, but not spectacular ones. ... and no IH in the middle of the lineup. I detest the way Oli runs the team and have been calling for his firing for years now, but this is on MO and ownership for having no depth in the organization. Then signing junk like Hampson... AGAIN. What a joke....
