Hey, Juan, you know darn well that getting JW and IH back "will be just like making a trade"! Didn't know either of them could be a starting pitcher or an OFer with OPS north of .800...... Yeah, we are all Charlie Brown to Mo's Lucy with the football if we really think there will be a meaningful deadline deal. Color me very surprised if anything major happens. Queue Cranny to tell me it takes two to trade....

This is the team we have and the only changes will come from Memphis, except as you say, the possibility of some minor deal for a middling reliever..
You are exactly right, bccardsfan. Granted, getting Herrera back will help. But it will also diminish pt for Gorman. Just as he is showing life.
Gorman is showing signs of life. They can play Donovan in LF. In fact, if they are going to try and replace both Mikolas and Fedde in the starting rotation, Nootbar might be their best trade chip to get a ML ready SP. Noot started out the year so well, really hasn't been injured and he has not produced at the level we all hoped he would or could.

I agree with Nootbaar being a trade chip. But the organization seems infatuated with him. I could see them packaging Walker for an average to injury prone with potential starting pitcher.

As for the lineup, they could have started Pozo at catcher and Gorman at dh. Pages looked awful behind the plate yesterday.

I doubt the Cubs are that concerned about the Cards. Any divisional game is important, but in this case its mostly about holding off the Brewers. Getting Woodruff back is huge for them and he pitched like an Ace today.
