The food poisoning impacted both pilots, one of whom strangely was basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar (née Roger Murdoch). I inspired Striker, a pilot with a fear of flying, to take command and land the plane.
He brought us in real low. But he couldn't handle it.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

I used to love Seattle. Spent a lot of time there.
We should thank ourself for not spending a lot of time in Fresno!
Spent a lot of time in Oregon too. I love it there so much along the Coast
Nice. Once they figure out I'm your long con to talk up Jake Neighbours we can go live in Astoria. But that will take awhile to decipher so in the meantime I'm enjoying the Tacoma night life
Have some Serious Pie for me if it’s still any good there.
NHL schedule is released July 16 on a Wednesday (per the internets?) so I will fold that rec into the likely one Blues game here this season, which I assume will either be the NHL season opener at 1:30pm on a Tuesday again or one of the last games of the season. I thought we were wise to choose Seattle instead of Tacoma because people over time would keep seeing 'Taco' then would have posted about Tacos as means to remind us of outsider status. Seattle is also more alliterative. In regards Tacoma, was surprised at the variety and quality of pizza places, it's a big thing in the PNW as is IPA. When 55 year old Brad Pitt was climbing onto the roof to fix Leo's antenna in OUATIH he wasn't eating a lot of pizza nor drinking a lot of IPA so it is a challenge of the will.

Nah, keep it. Maybe we end up with a dynasty and it ends up as a positive. I don't think you can change it actually.
You can actually change it. Have to login to the StlToday main site and then there is an option there. Mine used to be HitchSucks when I got overly frustrated with him, but cooler heads prevailed. Lol
Thanks for the info, I just may have to change it someday once I become a full fledged pariah on this forum and Im not able to get inducted into the Kool Kids Klub :)

And for the record, I think Hitch is one of the most overrated coaches of alltime. If not for Brett Hull’s toe, Hitch would be known as the ultra-conservative coach who could never win the big one.

Mine is easy, I even put his number in my handle.
He was an outsider and dark and tough and mysterious.
He was thrilling the first half of his first season as a Blue.

I was always curious as to why you picked such a random former Blues player as your nick. I remember ol’ Harry well, always thought he should’ve used his size more.

He had concussions early and often and was released after three years because of them.
His was one one of the last generation to play when head hunting was all legal.
He was one of the plaintiffs who won a tiny bit of money from the NHL after he was forced to retire at 25. The lawyers and the doctors got the lions share.

Ha. Great that you have your family so close by. My wife's whole family is from Long Beach. I go striper fishing sometimes in the back bays near you...I'd spend more time down there, but we live on the other side of the Throgg's Neck, and the Van Wyck/Cross Island/Belt Parkway are all my mortal enemies.
Holy cr@p!
Hahaha  I just had to watch a couple Peter Boyle clips, which led me to some Young Frankenstein highlights. What a great movie, haven't seen it in years and years. Dude is pretty funny.

Peter Boyle is great in one of the great neo noirs, The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973). Great Mitchum role too

Must see hockey clip (no spoilers are revealed by this clip)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqmyekdW2tk

"Number 4 Bobby Orr! Greatest hockey player in the world, What a future he's got, huh?"

Great line in a noir, as they are about man's corruption, crime and doom.

Going to live NHL games in the 1970s was an experience I'm glad I had

Lets_Clinch-I tend to always be the eternal optimist when it comes to the Blues became a fan in '78. I used to be a baseball and football Cardinal fan and was a huge Rams Fan but have remained a steadfast fan through all the years good and bad. I too didn't survive the purge and lost a lot of my memory over several years until diagnosed with epilepsy. Lets_Clinch was what I came up with as a positive for all teams we back and root for-meaning if you could say "lets clinch"-well it meant even if you lost that next game you were guaranteed at least 1 more game and a chance to move on in any series for any of our teams. That meant the conversation that night and at least 1 more could still be positive-something often lacking in today's World.

I went back and read all the comments. Isn't this fun.
I love the old references like stories about Noel Picard and Gus Kyle. "hot rivets"...that's a good reference, and that is where Barnburner must have gotten his name. Those were the good old days for sure when some of us were teens. Since this is such a popular thread, I just want ALL Blues fans to spend an hour watching "True Blues" on you tube I don't think I need to convince the older fans (who might be seen within the film), but for those younger fans who never got to see the Old Arena on Oakland Ave, this re-lives the time with the Plagers, Picard, Red Berenson and our other heroes in "the day". (the explanation of my screen name i way back on page 2 for those who may have missed it and wanting to know about me better).

Agree 2,112 percent!

Close second to The Far Side.

My bad memory is that Calvin and Far Side were out to rest in the same year.

I was fortunate enough to see Stevie Ray Vaughan in concert. It was the first of two shows at Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, WI. Eric Clapton was the headliner. Also on the bill with Clapton and SRV were Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and Jimmie Vaughan. The 2nd show was on Sunday night, August 26th. In the early morning hours of Monday, August 27th, the helicopter SRV and others were in went down in the hills of Wisconsin. My screenname is in honor of Stevie and the year he died.
