Blues Talk Drinking Game
In the spirit of something to do during the down time, I propose taking a shot anytime one of the following occur
Feel free to add others and I’ll see you in AA, save me a seat and a donut!
(If I mention you by name don’t take offense, it’s all in good fun, roast style)
Anytime:
Someone mentions grit/sandpaper
ASOGG bashes Army
Pierre, Seattle or MN gush over some prospect 99% of us have never heard of
The High Hat writes a small novel in his post
Harry York or Bud White bash Kyrou
Theo disagrees with the OP (bashing Russian players also counts)
Someone puts up a crazy trade proposal. Texier for McDavid for example. Also for suggesting we grab any newly released player.
Some uses the Cole Dags and a 3rd joke
Someone pines for an ex-Blue
Feel free to add others and I’ll see you in AA, save me a seat and a donut!

I down a shot every time Army does something stupid. I live with one of the most authoritative cannabis experts in the world. For example a couple years ago she just crafted Ukraine's new legalization system from an easy chair through an interpreter while I watched. Therefore when I mention the Canadiens maybe getting a sneaky good pick in Hayden Paupenekis in the 3d round, you should avoid a hangover and avoid the many health negativities that come from drinking and instead get your endocannabinoid system stimulated.
Re: Blues Talk Drinking Game
I wish I could. I found out that the term "Getting slant eyed" is real. Problem is, it throws me into vertigo to the point I walk unsteady the next day. It's awful, trying to get to the bathroom at 3am is not something I'll try for a third time. Twice was enough for me, thanks.seattleblue wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 12:20 pm I live with one of the most authoritative cannabis experts in the world. I WANT Kyrou to play well and to compete. He has done it well enough in the past to completely change my mind.
I have far too much Woodrow Call in me. I guess my quote would be:
I hate a lack of compete in a Man. I won't tolerate it.
https://youtu.be/QuIjVtUfovM?si=A4BYQ4gc0i05Zww9
I honestly hope Kyrou turns me around again.
I am an optimist about most things and a stoic about the rest.

Re: Blues Talk Drinking Game
"cannabis is for anyone, but not for everyone" is very real. I'm sorry that was your experience. Plenty of people I know have had an experience that deters them. I was a straight arrow oldest achiever growing up, but had a sibling stoner. (a "Clayton Stoner" if you will, though we were more U City transplants into Clayton, not throughly of Clayton IYKYK). So I didn't find out it worked so well for me until I was nearly 40. This plant has led me into life experiences that have been diverse and transformative. One thing regular users find out pretty quickly is the psychoactive effects go away and feeling "high" is something that goes away unless you take a tolerance break (t-break). If you are using it to "get high" in the common perception of what that means, then being a regular user works against that. I can hold a staggering amount of information in my head and remain focused with huge productivity & complex analysis while using it throughout each day. There are a lot of high achieving stoners out there. Lot of misperceptions. Of course it being a verboten subject and still banned by most social media companies is part of that.TAFKAP wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 12:36 pmI wish I could. I am an edible person. Too many years of delicious Marlboro Reds ( the Soft Packs were the smoothest and richest) have made me shy about smoking anything. I enjoy the way a cannabis high can shut down my over-thinking mind and, literally," Bring me to my senses". I don't do it all the time, but watching ice hockey high slows the game down for me and I fall into the flow state that is about as wonderful a manner in which a person can experience existence. Life becomes as effortless as a Taoist dream. It is the same with Music and Theater, and love-making.seattleblue wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 12:49 pm"cannabis is for anyone, but not for everyone" is very real. I'm sorry that was your experience. If I meditated more, I would eat less weed. Like most drugs, it can be a shortcut for the lazy, or spare time challenged. If I worked at calming myself more frequently, I would be more sober... and post diatribes less often.

Love edibles – have been working on lowering my Minimum Effective Dose down to 20mg. (The higher mg it is, the more you need each time.) All of those enhancements you mention are real. Food flavor too. There's a reason it's used to help sick patients stimulate appetite. I use my edibles with exercise primarily & time it about 30 min before concept 2 rowing (rowing while watching prospects), hot yoga, strength training, kayaking or long walks. For meditation it's critical to make habits. I recommend Insight Timer - free app with tons of guided meditations of all lengths. 28 days to make a habit.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 13:02 pmI am an edible person. I didn't mention the food flavor enhancement as my dear departed Mother gave me a powerful gene for digging flavors. I can get almost orgasmic if the mood and the food are juuuuust right.

Re: Blues Talk Drinking Game
We have older animals. Couple dogs, couple cats. My beloved 1st dog turned 10 today. He's 100lbs of shy stoic sweet love. Handsome and never met a dog he didn't like. On that future day, I am still going to have to function and get through hell. The way to get through hell is you have to be present with it while it's happening so you get through it the most directly and quickly and come out the other side. I don't want to store & avoid. When one of our older cats passed a couple years ago I held her the last 24 hrs until we could get to our appointment (rural vet care!) and I realized I needed to practice the skill of staying present. There is so much volatility in the near future IMO that equanimity practice is current vital practice. It's about getting as lean as possible everywhere. Hell will still be felt, you can't avoid that, but you can remain your whole effective self not jerked around by events.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 13:24 pmI appreciate the solid advice.seattleblue wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 13:14 pmLove edibles – have been working on lowering my Minimum Effective Dose down to 20mg. My wife is the same as what you describe. Work from home has been very productive for her career. As far as the Clayton reference, I have friends who are Richmond Heights/Clayton folks.seattleblue wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 12:49 pm"cannabis is for anyone, but not for everyone" is very real. Do you think you might add one for every time a die hard blues fan with dark and thick rose colored glasses rushes to defend a player who has obvious issues?
