It's that time of year again, where does your Screen Name come from?
We've done these from time to time and since nothing else is really happening and we've got some new faces, thought now would be a good time.
Mine is part tip of the hat to Prince, but mostly a tip of the hat to my old Screen Name. I was Puckhead here since the days of Postnet. My first email address in the late 90's was puckhead@postnet.com. It was a dialup ISP at that time. When it switched to this forum, I was here. Maybe someone will remember the year but the Post wanted to clean up fake accounts so you had a verification email sent to the address in the system to keep your account active. Well I hadn't updated my info in years and had no access to my old sbcglobal email address so I lost my account and had to make a new one. Long story LONG, TAFKAP is The Author Formerly Known As Puckhead.

I grew up in a very humble home in North St Louis, and I cut grass for what little money I had. I climbed out of hole to the smell of cut green grass.

I went through a dark period of despair and disillusionment with the direction the Blues were heading, but then they got their sheeet together and 2019 happened. Id love to change my nick but I couldn’t find an option to when I looked after they won the Cup.

I went to a rescue shelter and got a shar pei puppy. Couldn’t think of a name and later that night Paul Kariya got knocked out cold by Scott Stevens and came back to score after everyone thought his career was over. So I name the puppy Kariya.

Mine is just a nickname I got at work from a supervisor. Been 30 years ago now. Man I feel old now.

Nah, keep it. Maybe we end up with a dynasty and it ends up as a positive. I don't think you can change it actually.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 20:59 pm I went through a dark period of despair and disillusionment with the direction the Blues were heading, but then they got their sheeet together and 2019 happened. Went to Roscoes in Inglewood with my friend and he was cracking up. So I said "what is so funny?" He said "look around". To which I replied, "yeah, no waiting. We're getting seated." To which he replied, "That's why I luv ya man, you're the only white dude in this place!"
So in homeage to that and some other fun....

I was a war hero who helped Ted Striker land a plane that was stricken by a very bad batch of fish. The food poisoning impacted both pilots, one of whom strangely was basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar (née Roger Murdoch). I inspired Striker, a pilot with a fear of flying, to take command and land the plane.
