Was surprised to not see him catching Libby today. Thought they had the chemistry/rapport going on.

I would say play pozo. Cards were lucky it was a bullpen game today and the cubs had to go to bullpen early and got to Keller who had absolutely nothing and coughed it up. Pages can’t hit well and for a guy who people rave about his defense he lets a lot of pitches go to the back stop

The easy conclusion is play Pozo but I don’t think he is as good a catcher and it is extremely valuable to have a true weapon to put in at key times for a hit.

And if you move burleson to the bench, herrera when he returns to the bench, and then contreras to the bench- and insert fermin hampton into the lineup instead- then suddenly you have 4 real bats off the bench----- but then a really terrible lineup. Pages has been brutal as a hitter for some time. If not making pozo oztright starter at least split their starts more. Pages was hitting better when he wasnt playing everyday. If pozo cools off, then you can revert bacl but at least say you tried.

It’s weird to keep a good hitter on the bench just so he can pinch hit and waste four at bats on bad hitters. Good hitters can contribute more to the team with more at bats than fewer

I don't disagree with the logic, but I also suspect that Pozo is best used sparingly. He's certainly better than Herrera behind the dish, but not as good as Pages.

I know they say folks in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, but I also wonder how fast Pozo would wear down in the heat if he took on more catcher's innings. I'm content with him starting 2ish games a week and being a Lenny Harris otherwise.

Much of your argument is non sense but splitting more time giving Pages more days off makes sense.
