Logan Mailloux is coming!!

Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Bottom line is that the Blues D is bigger and younger. That alone will help the 6v5 issues we had last year due to wingspan along (to clog up passing lanes).
I like what Army and Steen did. They addressed what needed to be addressed.

Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Certainly no expert but from what the little I've seen Mailloux has a higher ceiling by far.
Liked Bolduc and frankly he surprised me with his production but as at least one Montreal writer stated Is his offensive output sustainable?
Both teams traded from a perceived position of strength.
Should be a good trade for both teams and while Bolduc should be a solid piece I believe Mailloux will eventually be more than that.

You really felt like you got to know Logan Mailloux.
He will be wearing #23 for the Blues.
He wanted #24.

Any details you want to share from the interview that stood out? I can’t watch it where I am due to slow internet.

Ok. Just a couple of things quickly.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 11:16 am Any details you want to share from the interview that stood out? I can’t watch it where I am due to slow internet.

He played football {like JC} DE and TE.
David Backes has been a mentor to him since his terrible decision.
He has skated with Kyrou in London Ontario.
He has received texts from a handful of teammates.
Only one has called. No surprise, it was our Captain.
He said Evan Bouchard was a bad comp.
Petro, was one he compared himself.
He likes to fight.
He likes to get rocked or rock someone early in the game to get his juices going.
There's more. Those are a few.

Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Interesting to hear. Him and Carbonneau are going to be a pain to play against.
Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
I hope not. I don’t want to fall in love again. My heart has a little room though.
Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
I listened and don't remember Backes being mentioned. Mailloux mentioned Rob Ramage being a mentor mutliple times. He seemed to have diffficulty expressing himself early in the interview, but then loosened up as it went on. I'd attribute that to being nervous. Mailloux had only complimentary things to say about other players and coaches. I think he's probably better off in St. Louis then the hockey hotbed of Montreal considering his history.Francis Park Thug wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 11:32 amOk. Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Strickland brought up his great hands and ability to dangle. Mailloux said he played Center until age 13 or 14. His shot has been clocked over 100 mph on an occasion or 2. He seemed like he doesn't like the Bouchard comp ... seemed like he thinks he will be better defensively than that (sure hope so). He mentioned John Carlson as a better comp in his opinion (along with Petro).Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 11:16 am Any details you want to share from the interview that stood out? It WAS Rob Ramage who mentored him.
My apologies to the board.

Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
You probably accidentally brought up Backes’ name because he was mentioned as a comp in the other thread regarding Jacob Stancil lol No biggie. I loved the interview.Francis Park Thug wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 12:39 pmThanks, You are absolutely correct.Sudsy 11 wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 12:07 pmI listened and don't remember Backes being mentioned. Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Rob Ramage is the director of player development for Montreal, hence LM looking up to him.

Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Blues fans need to give this kid some runway but there will be the typical hemming and hawing that comes with emotional attachments. Blues have some excellent resources for a kid like this, Al MacInnis or a call to Pronger, Jeff Brown, Affleck. Give him a year or so and see if isn't top 4 pair
