Big and well put together and very determined. By the looks of him, he has a good chance to make it.

Really heavy shot, great shot off the rush but he also has vision to make a pass. There's a lot of power forward to his direct game that kimzey referred to. He was playing center when he got back from WJC but ended up playing more wing. Handzus was a strong cycle player like Stancl with good possession and they both used their size to shield opponents off the puck. Similar physical demeanor as Handzus, more of a gentlemanly player. More of an Ulf Dahlen.

I think its pretty cool that if dvorsky doesnt make the team our entire 1st, and half of our 3rd rd from the 23 draft will be in springfield together.

Yep. I think I'll invest in AHLTV this coming year.

Thanks! Power forward but good off the rush with strong shot is definitely something to be excited about…

Scoring highlight reel from this last WJC to highlight some of his attributes. Sure there was a big game against hapless Kazakhstan but there were so many scoring opportunities that he was part of creating against the big boys: USA, Canada, Sweden. He scored against all 3. (Hensler coughed up the puck to him on the US goal, wow what a shot.)

Notice he can rifle it from the left, the right and middle. He sees the ice, he sees his teammates. He is a bull on the wall he wins battles then comes away from it to generate a scoring chance a lot of the time. Doesn't look that slow against his peers.

If there were a video of every great play he made in that tournament it would be 5x as long a video. He romped.

Granted he is 2 years older, but I saw him shove 6'6" Mrtka to the ground on a power rush down LW a couple weeks after the WJC and ring the crossbar.

And of course there is always this:

Any chance of him playing center in Springfield?

Yes.

Likely? I honestly have no idea. We’ll just have to see where the T-birds coaches think he slots in best. And would likely depend on who all else ends up in Springfield as well. It can be hard to project minor league lineups sometimes as you never really know who all might make the main team. I’m pretty sure Matthew Peca is signed to his AHL deal for at least one more year. And then Dvorsky and Dean will probably end up there too. So that’s 3 Cs off the top of my head I’d think would slot in ahead of Stancl.

I think Dvorsky is going to spend most if not all of the year with the St. Louis Blues. Gut instinct says.

As to the question, yes I agree I think it's probable they give him some looks at center
