I don’t see why in the world they would dump pozo he’s one of the few good bench players

Pozo + Crooks in 2026 is probably more interesting than Pages + CrooksOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 21:07 pm I don’t see why in the world they would dump pozo he’s one of the few good bench players

Re: upcoming 40-man decisions
That article kinda sucks. There's pretty much no mention of how the upcoming trade deadline will affect this.
1. I probably keep Pozo. I know it's limited duty, but he has been a steady presence in the line-up. His hitting reminds me of Alejandro Kirk. Probably not a lot of power, but an excellent contact hitter. It's not flashy in today's day and age of slug, but not everyone can or should be swinging for the fences.
2. See the trade deadline. No matter what happens over the course of this month, there's going to be change. If we catch a heater, then I think there will be some buying. If we continue to get pounded, then we're definitely selling. Either way, I expect a portion of this roster to look completely different this time next month.

Re: upcoming 40-man decisions
Other than Helsley, maybe Matz, I don’t foresee a market for Cardinals players at the deadline. Too many good/better players on the Pirates, Orioles, Marlins, other sellers. Though, I could see the Cards trading from its surplus of catchers, and would think contending teams would be interested in Pozo.

NO article is going to be perfect.
