Less than two months to real games so why not look at meaningless football lists, especially one that dates to 1889?
They like Cayden Green.
Ohio State might have both the best offensive and defensive player this year.
The SEC has the most schools (12) and players (16) on the 2025 preseason team, followed by the B10 (9 schools, 15 players). No surprise.
Since not many will click through, I'll mention that Walter Camp "introduced the play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side in 1880."

Green is the real deal and will keep the momentum going with Mizzou developing top tier OL. The two other players who could have breakout seasons and end up in these conversations come January are Norfleet and Hardy. Norfleet was injured much of the season and Drink has shown the tendency to lean on one back if he is doing well (Badie and Shrader). I could easily see both leading the SEC at their respective positions.

Re: 2025 Walter Camp Preseason All-America Teams
I thought Hardy was a really good under the radar signing. Joke is on me I guess because I have seen nothing but praise nationally as these preseason lists and rankings have been released. Scary to think of his potential in an offense that has turned Tyler Badie and Cody Schrader into league leaders. Would love to see him hit and take the pressure off the new QB.
Speaking of the list though kudos the Cayden Green. His exit sure rankled the OU faithful but by all accounts he handled his move inside excellently and this season would seem to be his time to shine. (I didn’t understand the four O-lineman per team though?)
Final thought, the hype isn’t there as it was last summer but there is something exciting about a “new era” so to speak this season. I love me some college football and that next man up aspect from year to year is one of many reasons why.
