Im not going to lie. If byram could stay healthy and LM get a grasp of NHL defense and our system, we would have one of the biggest, fastest and most mobile D in the league. Then lindtein could really ease into his role the least stressful way possible. I just do know what the puke point is for this deal for army or myself.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 08:14 am Looks like a few of you are really trying to talk yourselves out of a really good player that’s just coming into his own. There are many reasons he went as high in the draft as he did.
This player fits Army’s plan like a glove. I imagine Army has a set price and is waiting for Buffalo to accept it. Byram signing an offersheet is the worst possible thing if he truly wants out of Buffalo.

I think it’s gonna take a roster player and a prospect. I don’t think you can get it done without Jiricek and id be ok with that.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 08:24 amIm not going to lie. As for Byram and his health, that’s a legit risk for anybody. You can’t get more healthy than playing all 82 games which he did last year. We are looking at a 50-60 point dman here likely very soon.

Faulk is the only realistic roster player that makes sense to me. Which top 9 forward or currently projected top 6 defenseman (other than Faulk) would we be ok sending along with Jiricek? Byram can play the right side, but is that ideal? On the left side Broberg is set. Fowler for a year at the least and then Lindstein is knocking on the door hopefully. And DA says that Monty really likes Tucker who I thought was pretty good by the end of last season strictly as a 3rd pairing guy. Bottom line for me ... it's concerning to think about the roster player names and prospect names that might be involved in these conversations.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 08:46 amI think it’s gonna take a roster player and a prospect. If they want a roster player then i cant think of a trade i would like to see. But i doubt buffalo gets as much as they want.
I get that a career ending injury can happen to anyone also, but but injury history should dock price at least a little. Weve all heard rumors that he doesnt want to be in buffalo. That could also be speculation. IMO buffalo does not have the leverage

How are they going to get Faulk to agree to that? Surely Buffalo is on his no trade listb-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 08:58 amFaulk is the only realistic roster player that makes sense to me. As Pierre said Fowler would make more sense, but he also has a M-NTC so honestly it probably wouldn’t be a defenseman. Hopefully not Lindstein.
It might be taking awhile because you also still have to get comfortable with the contract Byram is wanting.
I do hope that if it materializes, it’s a good deal given the risk, or at least reasonable and none of the top prospects are going the other way ie Dvo, Lindstein, Stenberg, etc

Maybe the roster player is Kessel and the prospect is a winger. Gonna sit back and let Doug do his thing. If it happens, great if not, no big deal but it seems like there is an opportunity. Seems like the offers might be low because if they were decent surely Buffalo would have moved him by now.

Re: Byram and the Blues still a hot rumor
I’ll be honest, I haven’t been in on all of the signings since July 1, but would Buffalo still be in the market for a goalie like Hofer? That’s the only thing that makes sense to me. Would they like Hofer more than Levi?Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 10:00 am Maybe the roster player is Kessel and the prospect is a winger. Gonna sit back and let Doug do his thing. My bad I said that weird. You were talking about the possibility of him not getting extended you didn’t suggest trading him. I was just saying either way doubt he gets movedPierre McGuire wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 09:55 amWhat? Where did I say Fowler? Re: Byram and the Blues still a hot rumor
Army said if the coach wants it, Suter could center Holloway and Kyrou. He said Suter had his best offensive season because he was given opportunity, he's still young, and it's up to us to give him opportunity.
Rumors are Buffalo might want Neighbours because they want to be harder to play against.
Call me crazy, but maybe Schenn is a part of the deal? They have cap space to fill.
Schenn, Neighbours (who attended Schenn's wedding), and Faulk for Byram and ??? Kulich/Doan/Benson/Quinn? Kesserling/Timmins?

Giving up Bolduc and Neighbours in a summer. Uggh. I sure hope not.zamadoo wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 10:54 am Army said if the coach wants it, Suter could center Holloway and Kyrou. lol Neighbours is untouchable after the Bolduc trade. Especially for an injury prone dman. Our new weakness would be wingers all of a sudden.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 11:02 amGiving up Bolduc and Neighbours in a summer. Uggh. I would prefer to just move Faulk and picks for Byram, but just using FREEDOM of speculation today

If they want to be tougher, give them Toropzamadoo wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 10:54 am Army said if the coach wants it, Suter could center Holloway and Kyrou. He said Suter had his best offensive season because he was given opportunity, he's still young, and it's up to us to give him opportunity.

That sounds fine to me, especially over Neighbours, but he doesn't carry much value being a 4th liner and upcoming UFA.
