Who is a softer player….Kyrou or Buch
People give Kyrou unjust grief for his style of play, but he had more blocks shots, more hits, and more takeaways in 2024 than Buchnevich. Kyrou was 5th on the Blues in takeaways and set a career high in hits and block shots. He bulked up last year by adding 10lbs and was much stronger and actually lead the team in +/-.
No idea why Buch gets a free pass when you consider 2024-25 he actually improve on his physicality (more hits, blocks, etc…) verse 2023 when he was the absolute softest player on the Blues. Walker had more hits in the 7 playoff games than a Buch had in 76 regular season games last year. Let that sink in for a moment.
If Army is wanting to make this team tougher, the first domino to fall should be Buch and his horrible hockey IQ.

Buchnevich head butts players once every couple years and acts like a lunatic…then people here think he’s tough or something.
He’s like Polak. Scares nobody. He’s often a selfish player imo.

Funny stuff Karma.
Well timed.
No way I would have signed Buch to that extension and now he would be my first trade offer in every deal. I would much rather have Bolduc, but maybe other teams know this as well, which is why he never comes up in trade talks.

Buch isn't mentioned in trade talks because he has an NTC.

Yeah, I got the joke as Bleedr lives and dies (mostly dies) about his comments.Aesa wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 08:21 amI think you may have missed the point. Buch is not, nor will be ever be an All-Star.rezero wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 20:59 pm People give Kyrou unjust grief for his style of play, but he had more blocks shots, more hits, and more takeaways in 2024 than Buchnevich. What he is is the Blues highest scoring playoff performer since he got here and it isn't very close.
Giveaway and takeaways stats are among the least reliable in the NHL... and that is saying a lot.
Buch will dig the puck out of corners and from behind the net. The other guy has a difficult time with that.
Buch left his comfort zone when the team needed him most, as we needed someone to Center the other player... who was an awful mess at the time.
He will do the dirty work, and is our number one scoring leader in the post season. He gave it all for the team and for Bannister and I think he knows he got shafted because of that sacrifice. His contract is likely a reward.
He just looks ugly doing it.
