Thats because people always have to emphasize a narrative to be a HUGE deal if it goes against what they want to do. Hockey forums and life too. We could sign mcdavid for 12per and there will always be someone who isnt happy.TheHighHat wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 15:45 pmYes sir.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 15:15 pmSeems like a great opportunity for him to be kind of a player/coach if he would want to do such a thing. I know there had been some talk about him being a locker room cancer, but we didn’t see any signs of that with the Blues.TheHighHat wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 15:04 pm Suter would be a good and cheap option to tutor Mailloux on the 3rd pair if he is inclined to return.
There will be injuries so Tucker will get time too.
The Blues were forced to way overuse Suter early in the season last year.
That’s why he broke down later in the year.
Suter had a stretch of 25 games in a row where he played over 20 minutes per game in mid October thru early December. In 16 of those games he played 23+ including one game where he received 33 minutes of ice time!
It's funny how young players like MayU are giving a chance at redemption for off ice indiscretions, but something like having the reputation for being a cancer in the room as a young player sticks with you for the rest of your career. Some people change (mature), some don't.

I'm 100% with You skilles.skilles wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 10:21 amNone of them do, they are all absolute warriors but they are human warriors.
I'm around young adult athletes at that level alot. Its nothing like it looks from the outside, don't get me wrong it is a blessing at the same time and an incredible thing to watch but even the worst of them are absolute monsters. Calling any of them turds is just ignorant.
The absolute worst of them are among the absolute best of us.
Internet posters calling players cowards, garbage, turds.......is literally laughable.
I've got nothing but respect for the athletes that make it to any big stage....there's a way to judge them and criticize them without looking like a fool doing it.

Great Post.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 13:40 pmYep. Sharks needed to spend money just to get to the cap floor. Their play here is to hope Leddy is pretty much over his weird neck nerve issue and can be a serviceable player. If so, he will absolutely be worth a decent pick at the trade deadline. And of course, he’s a vet that can help solidify their young D as well. Help show them what it takes to be a pro.seattleblue wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 11:57 amI assume he is now deadline fodder for a team that wants to bolster its DSTL fan in MN wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 11:52 amMy point was what if he doesn’t agree to mutual contract termination? (which he didn’t) Doing so would forfeit the $3M owed to him for this season. He’d then be a UFA and able to sign with anyone but given the year he just had, there likely wouldn’t have been many suitors and not for anything close to $3M.Sophisticated Shoes wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 10:41 amMutual contract termination? I think we're a better team keeping him, but it appears the team has other plans, so perhaps we aren't better keeping Leddy, if the team has other plans. Speculation, based on appearance and Saad last year.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 21:04 pmAaand what if Leddy would rather just keep the $3M and doesn’t agree to terminate the contract? Then what?Sophisticated Shoes wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 20:45 pmStart looking, as I believe Leddy is done in STL. Waivers is just to see if someone will pick him up, and they could. If not, they'll end the contract, like Saad last year, and Leddy will sign for less elsewhere so he can play more than he anticipates in the new Blues D corps.Frank Barone wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 20:29 pmThis is reality talking here. If Leddy gets claimed, the Blues will need to find another starting LD.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 19:57 pmFunSeeker wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 19:05 pm Tucker was the best defenseman behind Fowler in the playoffs. If you want to throw Parayko in ahead of Tucker fine. Remember Monty loves Tucker and praised his offense. He was dominating out there, scared of nothing and built for playoff hockey. People here are forgetting what a loss it was when he blew out that knee in playoffs. Glad it wasn't as bad as it looked. He is a SOLID #5 defenseman for this season at his worst. Toughest guy on the team too.
I love Tucker for what he is but I found him to be an absolute train wreck defensively in the playoffs. He had a few good offensive moments but Winnipeg owned him as his feet just couldn’t keep up and he had trouble holding the blueline. That said, he was better than Suter. But whether it was Tucker or Suter, they both got caved in defensively against WPG in that series.
People forget that Tucker went through waivers unclaimed at the start of last season. JMO he maxes out as a #7 short term fill-in guy, like a Bortuzzo.
So now he gets to play in SJ and still gets the $3M. SJ likely wasn’t his ideal spot but tis the life of a player at the end of his career.
I wish Leddy well. He seems like a really good guy. There just wasn’t room for him here anymore. And bc of his neck nerve issue, the Blues went out and replaced him with Fowler and we simply can’t afford/justify to pay a 3rd pairing guy $4M on the cap. But SJ can.
Leddy’s 1000th NHL game happened to be here in MN and I took my son to it. Went down to the glass before the game and all his friends and family were there for warmups. Talked to a few of them and ended up sitting right next to the dad of his HS best friend. This guy was a talker and long story short, Leddy is definitely a good dude off the ice. His time here came to an end but I wish him well. Good Minnesota boy.
Reality.
Thank you.
