Any chance now that Contreras would waive his NTC?
He could probably get a pretty good return. Maybe a RH outfield power hitter prospect. Then Burleson becomes the regular 1B. Which is a good defensive position for him. Then Herrera becomes the DH. And then let there be some serious competition among all the fine catchers in the organization.https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/jo ... 9a4b7&ei=7

One can hope I suppose. He is blocking playing time and should exit with the moron that signed him.

If he's as wishy-washy as you are, then maybe.
Re: Any chance now that Contreras would waive his NTC?
On pace for 20 and 100, yeah he would waive it in right scenario, could bring back a decent prospect

He could help a lot of teams
Re: Any chance now that Contreras would waive his NTC?
It is his team.
Would make no sense to trade him.
And would create a massive hole.
Trading Walker and Nootbaar, on the other hand, would solve so many roster issues.....

Trade the ONLY inspirational leader in the team. Great move.

If he wouldn’t do it in the offseason why would he do it now? With the team performing better than expected, last series withstanding, why would he jump ship now?Shady wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 15:05 pm He could probably get a pretty good return. The true intent of your OP was just for you to say, yet again, Burly>Contreras. Which is still wrong. Just cut to the chase and tell us how much you love your hero.

"If he wouldn’t do it in the offseason why would he do it now?" Evidently, in your haste to bash me, you didn't read the article. Or, at least, failed to comprehend it. Let me help you figure this out. There seems to be some "bad blood" now between Contreras and the Cardinals.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 16:29 pmIf he wouldn’t do it in the offseason why would he do it now? Keep Noot as 4th OFer. Could do much worse and the return wouldn’t be nearly as much as many think.
JW better stashed in AAA and see if he can get right and excel. That would at least make him intriguing again to a trade partner. He’s in the bucket of balls level of return right now.
I’m probably still riding the JW hope train a little too long like you have with Gorman, which I was high on too. They just seemed to have those next-level tools that our other JAG-prospects don’t.
Their futility has been the biggest setback to the team’s return to prominence.

I don’t read MSN clickbait trash. I read the one you posted that stated “Yankees rip Paul Goldschmidt over recent performance”….NOTHING in the article supported the headline. That’s not your fault, but did you not notice the same before you shared?Shady wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 16:47 pm"If he wouldn’t do it in the offseason why would he do it now?" "They just seemed to have those next-level tools". if the player can't make consistent contact. It doesn't really matter that much about "next-level tools".CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 16:48 pmKeep Noot as 4th OFer. Could do much worse and the return wouldn’t be nearly as much as many think.

29 HRs as a rookie says Gorman made some contact. JW had a solid rookie season too. Neither sustained…hence “seemed”.Shady wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 16:51 pm"They just seemed to have those next-level tools". if the player can't make consistent contact. It doesn't really matter that much about "next-level tools".CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 16:48 pmKeep Noot as 4th OFer.
