Bolduc for LM - at the moment it seems like Bolduc is the better player in the trade, but I think most sane folks would give this a "wait and see" approach.
I guess I see it differently, you you make a trade the market value the players have right now is what matters.

Can we develop Mailloux into a better player than Bolduc....sure maybe but right now we have already developed Bolduc into the better player.
Oh totally fair point, and I agree Mailloux for Bolduc is a bit of a gamble. But I think Kyrou for the 3 players mentioned in the potential trade was a WAY bigger gamble.

Just curious - would you have traded Snuggerud for Mailloux? From a "what do we know right now" perspective, Snuggerud would seem a little closer to Mailloux.

No, I would have stood strong on a package of lesser prospects and I might have lost the deal because someone offered more but I simply do not believe anyone was offering even close to what we gave them and I would have stood by that.

I just really don't feel like other teams were knocking down the down and I don't believe the trade was that urgent.

What I believe is that Army is very set on leaving this team in great shape for the future and he blinked. We had time to address the RD and it was not so urgent that we should have traded Bolduc for a maybe or really even a probably.

Saying all that I love acquiring Mailloux for sure, I just think we didn't do a great job doing it, and maybe had our priorities a little out of order.

For me Mailloux is a player you snipe on a great deal because he has question marks and baggage, not a player you pay a full blown premium for.

Are we managing the St. Louis Blues or Armstrongs legacy?

It’s a gamble. Hoping the mail man delivers
Likewise. Someone posted this in another thread and it was repeated locally on the radio - but the gist was Bolduc was likely going to get in the neighborhood of 4-5m on his next contract, which would be after this season. if true, I'd have to think there's some economics at play here as well. Even though Mailloux is also an RFA, he isn't getting that kind of money after this year.
Depends. If he starts getting PP time, decent ice time etc. time will tell.

But yeah, Bolduc really impressed me a lot this year. He freaking states a lot big name players and showed he’s hard to play against.

He said “physical play is in my DNA” and it seems to be. I’ll miss that about him. Those Frenchies are often very tough hockey players

I’ll perhaps believe it when it’s reported by one of the main insider guys like Friedman, Seravelli, Dreger, LeBrun, Weekes etc. Or JR, Strick, DeFranks…

But not some random Twitter acct called hockeyinsiderrrr
