People here are forgetting what a loss it was when he blew out that knee in playoffs. Glad it wasn't as bad as it looked. He is a SOLID #5 defenseman for this season at his worst. Toughest guy on the team too.
I love Tucker for what he is but I found him to be an absolute train wreck defensively in the playoffs. He had a few good offensive moments but Winnipeg owned him as his feet just couldn’t keep up and he had trouble holding the blueline. That said, he was better than Suter. But whether it was Tucker or Suter, they both got caved in defensively against WPG in that series.
People forget that Tucker went through waivers unclaimed at the start of last season. JMO he maxes out as a #7 short term fill-in guy, like a Bortuzzo.

I think that would set up a bad situation for all parties. The Blues would probably assign him to Springfield which doesn't really benefit either party. The Blues would save a bit over a million on the cap but no real dollars. Leddy would hate the experience most likely.

I still think one of the teams near the cap floor claim him, or someone like the Hawks who have a lot of young defenseman and could use a veteran presence for a year.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 21:17 pm I think that would set up a bad situation for all parties. Re: Leddy on waivers
I doubt it’d automatically mean he’d get assigned to Springfield. Waivers in the offseason are near meaningless in terms of the minors. There is no minors right now. They’d have to put him on waivers again in camp if they actually wanted to assign him to Springfield. The only reason he was put on waivers today is to see if another team will take him off our hands at full price. I think there’s a good chance Army knows a team is planning on putting a claim in on him.stryker16 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 21:14 pmThen he has to go to Springfield at 34 yrs old. Re: Leddy on waivers
Right and I agree. Not necessarily a given but the Suter signing makes me think he knows what team even. Guess we’ll see. But I am just saying (and I am aware you know this) the NTC gives him more leverage to force a players hand. He has used it a few times now (didn’t he also threaten to do this with Krug before he went the medical route?) I believe this was also the play with Bruins and Backes. These guys have a lot of pride and it seems rare they’d rather pout in the minors than just go somewhere in the NHL and move on.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 21:24 pmI doubt it’d automatically mean he’d get assigned to Springfield. Is it 12pm CST that we find out if he cleared or got claimed? Can’t remember if it’s 24 or 48 hours on waivers. Thanks.

Re: Leddy on waivers
None of them do, they are all absolute warriors but they are human warriors.
I'm around young adult athletes at that level alot. Its nothing like it looks from the outside, don't get me wrong it is a blessing at the same time and an incredible thing to watch but even the worst of them are absolute monsters. Calling any of them turds is just ignorant.
The absolute worst of them are among the absolute best of us.
Re: Leddy on waivers
+1…..most of the internet warriors have no clue how elite these guys are. Take the “worst” guy on any team and he far and away is your best player on whatever rec team your on and it’s not even close.skilles wrote: ↑03 Jul 2025 10:21 amNone of them do, they are all absolute warriors but they are human warriors.
