Yeah and I could not believe they did not play him more. Other than he might be getting long in the tooth at 32 I think he will be a fine addition.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 16:41 pmYep last yr as I mentioned Bjugstad played about 6 min less a game in a 4th line rolekimzey59 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 16:22 pmAnd Kevin Hayes had 54 point the season before we got him.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 16:15 pm Two yrs ago in a top 9 role Bjugstad had 45 pts over 17 min a night. That didn't work out either.
You can not count of Bjugstad to be any kind of scorer. He had practically an identical stat line to Sunny last year.
Adding him to the 4th line mix is one thing. Expecting him to fill a top 9 spot is just lunacy.

We have $6M in cap space. I like Sunny better as the 3C.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:46 pmHe is likely looking for 2-3 million on a multi-year deal.
That's out of our range.

based on Army's meet and greet with the press sounds like he is 3C bound, but might play some 4C from time to time.rezero wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 20:57 pmWe have $6M in cap space. Ugh. Would have much preferred Faksa, but Bjugstad is fine, and it's not our biggest problem. We're still thin down the middle. We need to find a way to get a middle-six center...it can't just be Sunny and Schenn. Even a serviceable 3rd line center would be fine.
Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
Because the Blues traded for Faska with one year left on his contract.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 07:01 am Why didnt Army sign Faksa for 2 years last year?!! Goodbye WTF!

With the Suter signing what exactly was the imperative in getting bjugstad under contract for the next two years ?

You can never have enough of both.
Bjugstad can hold down the 3rd line if somebody gets injured. Suter can hold down the 2nd line if somebody gets injured. Dvorsky hopefully will be that guy one day who can fill in if Thomas is injured.

No idea. He is a bigger, slower less physical version of Sunny.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 20:39 pm With the Suter signing what exactly was the imperative in getting bjugstad under contract for the next two years ?

Did you watch Sunny last year?rezero wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 20:52 pmNo idea. He is a bigger, slower less physical version of Sunny.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 20:39 pm With the Suter signing what exactly was the imperative in getting bjugstad under contract for the next two years ?
I'm not convinced that Bjugstad is slower than Sunny. Not that Bjugstad is anywhere close to being a "burner", but it was painful watching Sunny try to skate last year.

I realize centers are a pre.ium but not sure there was a sweepstakes on him. Who were we co.peting with that we needed to add a second year?kimzey59 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 21:01 pmDid you watch Sunny last year?rezero wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 20:52 pmNo idea. And it appears Faksa wanted to go back to Dallas. (bleep) that Armstrong for not forcing him to sign with the Blues.somni wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:37 amBecause the Blues traded for Faska with one year left on his contract.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 07:01 am Why didnt Army sign Faksa for 2 years last year?!! This thread of complaining on the 2nd year of Bjudstad. He makes $1.75 per year (for 2 years). Faksa got 3 yr at $2M per.
All of a sudden the lack of Faksa will doom the club. I like Faksa, but he wasn't coming back.
[fork]ing Armstrong.

We traded nothing for Faksa last year (future considerations) while he had 1 year remaining on his contract. Sounds like you must have approved of the WTF line. Do you realize that DA literally gave up nothing to obtain him?a smell of green grass wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 06:58 am Why didnt they sign Faksa for 2 years last year?!! Goodbye WTF!
