Army and Steen love them some Sunny, doubt he is going anywhere.

Re: Suter 2 years for 8 million total
Suter is far from a perfect player but he has some nice attributes. He’s not big, he’s not fast, he’s not physical and he’s so-so on the dot. But he has fantastic defensive metrics and is very good on the PK. And he’s surprisingly good 5 on 5. Very high goals per minutes played rate. Basically, he’s not the most talented player out there but he’s very very smart. Thrives on his hockey sense.zamadoo wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 16:22 pm What do people see in this 28 y/o C with not great FO% listed at 5'11 174lb?
Not criticizing, genuinely curious as to how he fits. Career year last year but otherwise I wouldn't say he's got great 3rd line numbers.
Bjugstad and Suter for 2 years in the bottom-6. Schenn maintains 2C? Dvo to the wing?
For $4M/year, you take the warts. Solid 3C for sure.

Love the term and the ufa price seems fair. Roster is coming together nicely.

Link to all his 25 goals last year, including a sweet SHG against us at home.
He also had 3 empty netters last season. Maybe he can help ice down some games.
Love the signing!

I’d try to move Texier or Joseph before Sunny. Sunny is a right-shot and can play RW. I’d have no issue with Sunny, Bjugstad, Torpo and Walker battling it out throughout the season on which 3 of the 4 get into the lineup each night. Would keep them all fresh and hungry.
Then keep one of Tex/Joseph as the 14th forward and try to get rid of the other one. Maybe SJ needs more help getting to the cap floor.

Our team face off percentage is going to be awful
Re: Suter 2 years for 8 million total
Awesome, I'm pretty surprised by that term.
Prices so far way less than I expected.

An upgrade on the PK is huge.
They could not come back this year with the same pk staff they had last year. That was so abysmal last year something had to change.

The Panthers (SC Winner) and Jets (Prez Winner) were 20 and 21 respectively in FO% this year. It isn't a necessity for success though winning key ones is obviously very important on a game to game basis.
Re: Suter 2 years for 8 million total
Agree about moving one of the others first and I understand Sunny does bring some things to the table. Idk I just thought he seemed old and slow at times last year. I was starting to wonder if he'd be retiring soon and then I looked it up and he's 31.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 16:36 pmI’d try to move Texier or Joseph before Sunny. But he loves being here and there is enough depth to give him some nights off, so sure, keep him around.

Thats 15 forwards competing for 14 spots come training camp, which can only be a good thing.
