But as long as he's hitting, then we can live w/his basically league average defense.
3 or 4 DH

Re: 3 or 4 DH
I still go back to when Wetherholt is here next year and if they address the giant hole of RH power bat then what? They have 3-4 DH. Gorman Hererra Burelson and Walker (4th OF). Because that RH corner OF Donnie and Scott must playrockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 10:22 amNo problem w/that either.Youboughtit wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 10:10 amDH with Hererra in ILrockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:53 amTrust me ybit I'm not enthralled w/the Bison in RF either.Youboughtit wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:51 amHalf the rangerockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 08:38 am For the record:

Re: 3 or 4 DH
Neither he nor Donavan is an outfielder. That being said I don't recall the last time Burleson misplayed a ball as badly as Donny did last night.Youboughtit wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 22:03 pm The more I watch Burelson play outfield the more I am convinced they need to throw his glove away. He moves like a lumberjack. With Wetherholt at 2B next season Donovan will have to play OF. I would prefer to add a legit RH MOTO power bat and that only
Leaves RF. So my question becomes what to do with all these DH only players? The winning formula is to split DH between multiple players based on matchups but Gorman Walker Hererra and Burelson will all be on the bench. I think 3/4 need to be packaged for said OF and more pitching. They just don’t fit the defense first formula the cardinals need with this low payroll.

I started saying last year they need to give I. Hererra and OF'ers glove and have him work w/J. Jay all winter and in STing.Youboughtit wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 10:47 amI still go back to when Wetherholt is here next year and if they address the giant hole of RH power bat then what? As long as he can catch a fly ball w/one hitting him in the head, then try him during spring games in LF.
Look at some of left fielders in MLB who've been awful but could hit, he can't be any worse.

They "forced attendance down!" LMAO...that's some idiotic [shirt] right there...Youboughtit wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:50 amSo cutting $50m last year and $50m this year is a $100m reduction when the contenders including the Cubs are increasing their payrolls. We have almost $50 million coming off the books from Matz/Mikolas/Fedde. We could also probably sign Lane Thomas.
