Wow...that's surprising. Is there another move coming?

Ok...
Something seems to be brewing.

Byram …BOOK IT!
Re: Leddy on waivers
Agree it would appear to be setting something else up. Doesn't really make sense as strictly a salary dump. They are specifically clearing a spot on LD.

To use an old Jeff Gordon staple
How will history remember the Nick Leddy era?

Re: Leddy on waivers
Maybe it’s not setting up a LHD addition. We have Fowler, Broberg, and Tucker as the top 3 if you lose Leddy. Then Parayko, Faulk, Mailloux on the right side, with Kessel as your #7.
What teams need to make a cap dump after yesterday? Does Vegas still need to?

Re: Leddy on waivers
He won't be taken, so changes nothing. It just indicates that management wants him gone.
Re: Leddy on waivers
I assume there has to be reason, I suspect he might actually be claimed by someone. He is absolutely a serviceable 6th if healthy and only has one year left on a reasonable cap hit.

Re: Leddy on waivers
I guess. I'd prefer the option of Leddy locked in and Tucker and Mailloux splitting the 6 spot. At least for starters.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 11:11 am Maybe it’s not setting up a LHD addition. We have Fowler, Broberg, and Tucker as the top 3 if you lose Leddy. Re: Leddy on waivers
Given a few of the crazy contracts given out yesterday, I could see someone taking Leddy for one year.
Re: Leddy on waivers
Just saying; we would have more than enough cap space to absorb Zibanejad(for example) with Leddy off the books. Not sure I like our 3rd pairing in that scenario, but it doesn’t really take a ton to get a veteran on a league min salary to shore things up.
Re: Leddy on waivers
If my math is correct, this leaves the Blues with lots of cap if he's taken. Capwages says $87.2M before Leddy taken off. I prefer puckpedia to capwages but can't get while working.

Seravelli:
“#stlblues have placed D Nick Leddy on regular waivers. The 34-year-old has one year left at $4m - Leddy and the Blues had been working together to find a trade partner where he’d get more opportunity.
Trade hasn’t materialized so taking a swing on waivers. Effortless skater.”
Appears Leddy requested a trade

Re: Leddy on waivers
Hmmm. He has a no-trade clause. Signed $8.5M until 2030. He's 32, but he would definitely change the team's identity.
With how the Rangers deal, maybe they'll give us picks as well.
