Logan Mailloux is coming!!

Sounds like NYR is going to trade K Miller to the Canes for picks. But we lost Bolduc for an AHL gamble...honestly, I hate this trade more and more by the minute.

Miller is a lefty

So just being right handed makes 8-game Mailloux significantly more valuable than a proven, young, Top 4 NHL dman like Miller? It is very hard for me to defend this trade at the moment. In hindsight, it may work out but it is still dumb.

This trade is getting HAMMERED in the hockey online forums as a big win for the Habs and loss for the Blues.

Miller going for a 1st, 2nd, and prospect. Oh and getting 8 years and $60 mil. Oh and he plays in a spot where we already have a lot of depth.

But sure, it would have been better to grab him.

Folks here are utterly terrified that Mailloux hasn’t established himself in the NHL yet.

I'm not, I love adding him. I simply think we blinked and paid well over market.

Do people forget Bolduc was healthy scratched ~10 times last season.. had 1 point in 7 playoff games and took two terrible penalties?

Bolduc was still a prospect.. there was a reason Snuggerud passed him on the depth chart after 3 games.

He might end up an all star in Montreal but the Blues didn't trade away an established 30 goal scorer...

Jack - Habs fans, that have seen LM play actual NHL minutes and know more about him than 99% of the people on this board are almost universally thrilled by this trade.

Do the good folks of MTL not know about RHD scarcity? No. They’re thrilled because they view Bolduc as the more valuable player. Regardless of need, if they lost someone they all thought was going to be a great player, they would not be dancing.

Habs fans are crazy, sometimes they only see what’s right in front of them. They are trading a young defenseman that was drafted under contraversial circumstances that wasn’t an instant star for a young (and probably most importantly) Québécois, French-speaking winger with offensive talent. They’re getting back one of their own, of course they’re calling it a landslide victory.

I don’t think we paid well over market. We all liked Bolduc no question, but RHDs never come cheap.
